summer had come to It's end. Well for Orion at least. The twins still had the rest of august and the first week of September before they started school. Orion had spent most of his summer packing up things in his room for storage. He stood at the door frame looking at his now empty bedroom.
"Orion It's time to go." her mother yelled from downstairs. he was now going down the stairs making his way outside. It was still fairly dark there were small beams of sunlight that passed through the pine trees you could feel the cold moisture in the air. he opened the door to the front passenger seat, he went inside and waited for his father to arrive. it was still cold even with his sweater and jacket on. The lights to the car flashed then was fallowed by a thumping sound as his dad got in "you ready Ori. are you sure you didn't forget anything."
"Yes I am sure I didn't forget anything. Can you please stop worrying you know how anxious that makes me." He said looking out the window chewing his nails.
"I know sorry, but I cant help but worry your going to college." His father said looking at him.
" I know but i'll be fine you dont need to worry I'll be fine." he said trying to reassure him.
"you're right I shouldn't worry. Now let's go and enjoy the way there it will be only the two of us after all." His dad said puling out of the driveway.
The twins and his mother weren't coming due to his mother not wanting to skip church, she also didn't want the twins to skip either. You would think that all mothers see their children off to college, well not this one not if it landed on Sunday. He wasn't surprised though their family had skipped weddings, birthdays, baby showers, funerals, and family gatherings if it landed on a Sunday because his mom believed that on Sundays one must not leave the house church being the only exception unless someone was having a heart attack that was currently in the house. Besides that there was absolutely no excuse and his mother was a tough cookie to break, so he gave up trying a long time ago. He was actually surprised when his mother announced that he and his father would be skipping church due to it being the only way that it worked with their schedule's. He never skipped church but he didn't mind though, he fell asleep to the silence and empty roads.
He felt a light tap on his shoulder. "Hey buddy we're here." His dad said waited for him to come to his senses. He lifted his head opening his eyelids feeling heavy letting out a groaning sound as he tried stretching in the small car.
"Okay let's go." he said turning to his father,
His dad chuckled "You got a bit of something on the left side of your face."
he touched the left side of his face with his fingers and felt something warm and wet he realized what it was and quickly wiped it down with the sleeve of his jacket. His dad still chuckling lightly. "Okay Let's go," he said getting out of the car of embarrassment. He could now hear his dad bursting into laughter in the car, after a good two minuets the door to the car slammed and his father got out pressing the button to unlock the trunk of the car, The car reacted with a quick blinking flash. Orion puled the handle and opened the trunk that held all of his possessions and things he needed for the year. He carried down the boxes and set them on the ground he stacked two boxes on top of each other and walked up to the building. The dorm had fourteen stories and was made of bricks and there were all types of plants from shrubs to flowers to trees. He walked through the door and entered the lobby it was empty and Quiet, they came early for this reason so it would be less chaotic and there also wouldn't be such a wait, he walked up to the desk. where a tall brown haired woman sat, "Is this where you check in."He asked the woman.
She looked up at him "Well a matter of fact yes, this where you check in. Now can you tell me what your name is." her fingers hovering over the keyboard.
"Orion Gelum." He replied.
" let's see okay" she started mumbling to herself, " you are on the eighth floor in room twenty five. Here is your room key, and please don't lose this we do have backups but please try not to lose your key."
"I understand I'll keep these keys safe," he told her.
she smiled, "good. Now why don't you head up to your room and meet your roommate."
"He's already here," he asked almost astounded.
"why yes. He was the first one here and came thirty minuets before you did." She explained
"Oh" he replied, "well I guess I should go meet him them. bye thanks for all the help."
"your welcome," she said going back to the computer.
He went to the elevator and pressed up. the doors to the elevator slided open and he entered and pressed eight. he held the railings to the elevator as he felt the weird feeling of the elevator moving up and then dropping slightly down. when the numbers turned to eight there came a beeping sound before reopening the doors. He started counting the numbers as he went down the hall. "that's sixteen that''s nineteen... ah there's twenty five " he twisted the doorknob to see if it was unlocked and to his luck it was. He entered the room and saw that the left side of the room was already set up. the bed covers were a dark navy blue, at the feet of the bed there was a small box of books. he turned to the right of the room and placed his boxes on his bed. He observed the room a bit more and his eyes landed on a shelf that displayed about six snow globes, he walked over to examine them more and picked one up it looked like a wishing well and the base had flowers and a butterfly carved into it he put it down and grabbed another one this time it was a man holding an umbrella for a woman the details carved into the base of the snow globe were so interesting he traced the details with his finger and then fe felt a silver down his back "I know your hear" Orion said putting the globe back on the shelf.
"Didn't you know that it is rude to touch other peoples belongings." the guy said smirking leaning against the door frame
"sorry" he said self consciously going to his side of the room and sat on his bed. He started to observe the man he was wearing a black turtle neck, a white coat, and light denim jeans. he had blond hair that was died a rustic light blue on the tips, his ears with several black piercing and he was freakishly tall. His smirkish look was already intimidated but his height got him a lot of more points.
The boy saw that he was observing him and simply said "Hi my name Is Eli"
