Kina, Obo, and Shiki: "Dodona seeds?!"
Mito: "Huh? What's a Dodona seed."
Shiki: "There's a long story behind the Dodona seeds, but long story short, it's a medicinal plant that has been deemed extinct. It is said to cure any wound or disease immediately."
Mito's face expresses confusion, then realization.
Mito: "Is that what you used to heal my back, Adachi?!"
Adachi: "Yes, it is."
Mito's eye twitches, and he turns to Master Shiki.
Mito: "Just for reference, how much could you sell a Dodona seed for?"
Master Shiki thinks for a moment and then replies.
Shiki: "Hmm, I'd say around 90,000 cuts, minimum."
Mito's eyes glaze over, and he appears lifeless for a moment. Then, suddenly, he leaps across the table and puts his hands around my neck.
Mito: "WE HAVE TO GET THOSE SEEDS BACK, ADACHI! IT'S IMPERATIVE!"
Obo pulls him off me, lifting him gently across to his side of the table. I'm slightly dizzy because of how Mito just shook my head.
Obo: "Now, now, Mito. Even if we do retrieve those Dodona seeds, they're still Adachi's. So, Adachi, what do you plan to do if we manage to get them back?"
I think for a moment, then reply.
Adachi: "I'll plant them all. Selling them could be troublesome, as people would come asking for the location you found them at."
Mito, who had just calmed down, goes feral once more. Luckily, Obo is still holding him back.
Mito: "ARE YOU CRAZY? DO YOU EVEN KNOW IF THEY'LL GROW? I NEED THAT MON-"
*SMACK*
Kina gives Mito an excellent swing to the back of the head, and he calms down immediately. Scary.
Kina: "Although I disagree with Mito's obnoxious outbursts, I have to admit he makes a decent point. Each of the seeds in that bag can save a human life. What proof do you have that you can grow them?"
As I'm about to reply, Master Shiki cuts in with his own argument.
Shiki: "Unfortunately, this is the sort of thinking that led to the extinction of the Dodona in the first place. Fear of losing something so precious and receiving nothing in return is the main reason. Though Kina's motives are less selfish than Mito's, I agree with Adachi that planting them is the best decision. Thousands of people can be saved by the revival of this miracle seed."
Kina and Mito both hang their heads in shame. Finally, I decide to share some good news to break the tension.
Adachi: "Actually, I do know how to farm the Dodonas."
Everyone: "You do?!"
Adachi: "It's relatively simple. We would need to find a place where the soil is rich with natural midst energy. Ideally, this place would be well hidden and guarded. Once you plant the seed in midst rich soil, it should grow to maturity in less than an hour."
Mito: "This guy is full of it. There's no way he knows how to farm these things. It grows to full maturity in one hour? You guys can't seriously-"
*SMACK*
This time, it's Obo who silences Mito. A surprising action for such a docile individual.
Obo: "Please, continue."
Adachi: "Well, that's about it. Do you guys know of a place that meets these requirements?"
Shiki chuckles before replying.
Shiki: "Do we know of such a place? We're already here!"
Obo: "It's true. The soil surrounding this dojo is heavily infused with midst. Perhaps Kiichi sent you here with that fact already in mind."
Adachi: "Perhaps he did... Anyways, I've come to realize something."
Obo: "Oh? What's that?"
Adachi: "The Lord may not be in possession of those seeds after all. If I can just get in contact with Alice, I'll be able to confirm it."
Shiki: "We can arrange that pretty easily, especially if it means we don't have to butt heads with the Lord. Consider it done."
