He woke up to the sound of drums and loud cracks. The weather most be angry, Jinji thought, as he got up from his bed to walk to his parents room.
As he came closer to the door on the other side of the almost pitch black hallway, the sounds of a heated intense argument became blatant. It was normal for his parents to argue, but this much in the middle of the night? he wondered to himself if he might have woken up to them arguing and not the storm outside.
"So what if I wasn't being truthful to you this whole time? We both knew this relationship was never going to work! I only stayed here because of MY son! And it wasn't as if you were loyal either, you think I didn't notice?" He heard the boisterous voice his dad ring like the thunder outside.
There were a couple moments of silence as he heard the sound of his mom scream.
"I told you to not be snooping around my phone!" his mom said, as he heard a loud thud, followed up by a couple more. "Give it back!"
"Give me my son back then! Go ahead, tell him that you don't care about him! I'm sick and tired of hearing you act like you give an ounce of care to him!" His father argued back. "And you can come outside! You think I didn't notice you there!"
What was he saying? She doesn't care about me? What? Jinji's thoughts were interrupted when he realized he unconsciously opened the door. Silence now governing the atmosphere as he tried to make sense of what was he seeing. His mother was stuck completely still like a statue, with the only thing with movement being her right hand, which she was gripping a shoe tightly. His dad stood a couple feet away, defensively standing as if he expected to be hit.
Then Jinji felt a sickening feeling in his stomach, when he realized his father held a gun in his left hand, aiming for the closet.
"No, don't stoop now, you might as well tell him everything," his father said.
A man Jinji never has seen before got out the closet which stood right next to where his mom was standing. The man held his mom over her shoulders, and got in front of her, as if he was going to protect her from a gunshot.
He remember what his dad used to say when he was watching those karate movies.
"You can pull as many cool moves as you want, fight with as much honor, with as much swiftness, but a gun is still a gun."
POW! POW!
His eyes fixated at the now lifeless body of his mom and the other man. His father walked towards the drawers, as he looked everywhere till he found a bag.
Then he hugged Jinji tightly, Jinji's eyes still fixated at the now pool of blood that stained the floors.
"We're getting out of here as soon as possible," his father said. "When we get to the airport, you better not say a word about anything you just saw or heard. We're moving to a new country, a new house, and starting our life from scratch, everything that you grew up on, all the people you new? The things you did, forget everything, when we reach the airport that' when your born, understand?"
He nodded his head slowly.

I laughed as he saw the blue board in front of him.
It's like that game Zeno and I played in fifth grade together, what was it called again? Oh yeah, Vain. There were only a couple reasons for why cards were floating in front of me, not to mention a weird blue board thing to my side, but only one made sense. Some sort of game-like properties have been added to the real world like in those webtoons.
[Specialized Role]
You have been given a specialized role to fit the unknown functions in your body that does not resemble that of a human.
Role: Hail Ladar
Role Description: ?????
[Would you like to accept the specialized role?]
[Y/N]
So it seems this system has made some sort of scanning on my body, otherwise it wouldn't have commented on the so called "unknown functions," but this was all the better. I would have wasted time trying to pin point to a card that resonated with my already unhuman-like abilities.
[You have accepted the newly created role, "Hail Ladar".]
Crafting weapon....
[Weapon has been crafted!]
Well, where was the so on called weapon? I expected to acquire some sort of sword or medieval styled stuff that everyone else was getting. It seemed this power wasn't as simple and two dimensional as the others.
Then, a loud THUD was heard, so loud it most likely was heard throughout the entire building.
Was it an expulsion? This school was incompetent in more ways then one, I wouldn't be suprised if one of the pipes exploded somehow. No, it couldn't be. I could sense it, a powerful creature, one not of human descent. I could sense it's strength, and before it even ran through the walls, I could make out a slight appearance. A bull shaped head, with the body of a lion, standing on two legs. It was 8 foot tall.
//The match has started, defeat the boss monster\\
A loud robotic sound said, coming from seemingly nowhere.
I might as well try out my new powers

"What was that!?" a student shouted. His name was Benjamin Erkmen, one of the more popular students, that came from a wealthy family that held control of several oil fields.
Wait, I need to stay composed and confident, that way I can win over Olivia's attention.
Olivia was the most popular student in the school, her name chanted by almost every boy that came across her. Weirdly, even some of the male teachers had some sort of a crush towards her, though they were all disposed off when news came out. She was short with just a stature of 5,6 ft. tall.
She was the head of the Athletic Student Cooperation, which although sounded fancy, was just a huge club that worked in a couple schools in the city of Nanjook. She had long black hair and angelic soft skin, her most distinctive part of her face would be her small nose. She had uncommon eyes that somehow managed to look slanted and Gregorian -used for men and women from the continent Tracil-, with sea-blue pupils.
Wa What!
Why is that kid running towards that monster, is he wishing for an early death? Benjamin thought, as he recognized the student. His name was, if I remember, Emanuel Hiyiweti.
He had peculiar night-black majestic curly hair on top with daunting side-fade cut that any sensible man would wish for. He was reasonable tall, around six foot, and wore red/black clothes. He had a hoodie on that hide the back of his head.
If he tried he could have easily gotten himself a good looking girl, Benjamin thought as jealousy swept through him. He definitely could be a problem, good thing he hangs out with only a couple and doesn't pay attention to girls.
Emanuel stood before the hideous creature, as the students behind him stared in awe, wondering if this was either a prank or, well there was really no or, monsters didn't exist right?
The creature suddenly attacked, revealing a large skinny sword tucked behind it.
If you blinked you would have missed it, as the Emanuel somehow was able to deflect the sword with some weird black material that spread throughout the sword all the way up to the creatures hands. Screaming in agony, the monster once again struck, this time with a fiery powered up fist from the left. This time, Emanuel simply stopped it by a swift diagonal attack with his right. Enough force was applied for the creatures arm to be thorn apart, disgusting green fluids and solid red meat alongside cracked bones came out.
//The sub boss monster has been defeated by player "Emanuel Hiyiweti"!\\
"From now on," everybody heard the boy say. "I'm in charge of what goes around this school."
