As I opened the door, I was praying silently...i didn't want my head to be chopped off or to be fed to some disgusting carnivorous birds
As I walked in, l made sure to look around if I spotted a bird cage anywhere in that room...I was definitely leaving this place with my suitcase and taking the next flight back to Texas, besides I didn't come to San Francisco to die because of some stupid internship programme,I loved my life..
But I saw the opposite as soon as I stepped into the office, I was speechless as I tired to take in the beautiful environment I had found myself
What else was I expecting from someone who had a diploma, masters degree and other high rated certificates in interior designing..?"I thought as my interior designing instincts kicked in just in time to appreciate the amazing work of art right before my eyes
The office was warmly designed to the brim, I saw combination that had never see before in my life but it still blended well with the furniture
I brought out my phone and took a picture of the office intending to post the picture on my design blog once I had settled in... as I tried to take another shot....
"I didn't call you in here to take pictures, Hailey" I heard someone say behind me almost throwing me off balance.....
I flinched because I wasn't expecting someone to catch me off guard..
"I'm really sorry" I said as I turned to look at the person who had commented about my behavior
My jaws dropped as soon as I saw the strange fellow....
A lady dressed up in a green designer gown and black heels.. I looked as how the gown had clinged to her body
To be honest.... She was a gorgeous angel standing right in my eyes.. she was a bit taller than me
"When you're done checking me out, we can get down to the matter at hand"she said as she walked over to the couch by the corner and sat down not without crossing her legs...
And then I realized that I was drooling right in front her...
"I just gave her a clue that I was gay without even knowing it..
I coughed awkardly and sat down a few meters away from her because I didn't know what I could do to her as she was so irresistible..
Hailey woods?"She called looking at me with those ocean blue eyes that I almost got drowned in while staring at her...
Yes? "I barely muttered " what kind of temptation was this"I thought as I tried so hard to focus ..
" You were late on your first day, care to explain that" she asked flipping through my work profile..
"It won't happen again, I promise" I said as I tried to pose a responsible expression on my face
She kept mute for awhile before talking
"Well since you were late, I'm sorry there isn't any room vacant for you to stay ..
As you can see, we really didn't budget for a lot of people that came in here today"she said not even for once lifting up her head to look at me...
" What am I gonna do now?" I asked as I played with my fingers trying to avoid eye contact
"If you don't mind, you could stay with me in my Lodge until we could find some space for you to move into"she said
Ehmmm... " I stammered, I couldn't reject a free opportunity to stay in the same room with this beautiful woman right in front of me
As I tried to accept the proposal, I heard my stomach rumble.
"Oh mehn... Not now" I thought as I held my stomach to subside the noise but I had failed cos it's rumbling was loud enough to indicate that I hadn't eaten since morning
I heard her giggle and I looked up to see a smile on her face which she tried to hide but I had already seen it
Her smile was kinda cute"I thought with a smirk on my face despite the embarrassing situation I had put myself in
As I got up to leave and maybe grab lunch in the cafeteria once I found out where the cafeteria was located
"Wait a minute!!" She said almost shouting
Huh?!" Did I do anything wrong again"I wondered as I looked at her
She got up went to her landline and made a phone call quietly, I could barely hear what she said
"Sit down for a bit"she said urging me to sit down
When are you moving in with me then?"she asked
As much as I wanted to join in the conversation, I was so damn hungry that I could eat anything in sight
I don't know actually, since it's your room I thought maybe you could tell when to do so"I responded the much I could
" Here fifth floor upstairs, drop by when you're ready... I have already arranged everything to your taste"she said handing an automatic key to me...
Then I heard a knock on the door, I prayed that whoever was on the door was influential enough to engage her in a conversation while I escaped to the cafeteria...
"Come in" she answered
Then I saw a trolley of covered plates been rolled into the office by two chefs..
My mouth watered immediately, I needed to get out of this place before I make a fool of myself again...
After the manager had dismissed them, I got up and as I was about to open the door
Aren't you gonna join me? I can't finish this meal all by myself"she sharply cut in stopping me from moving an inch
Me? "I asked turning to look at her and repeatedly looking behind me to make sure that I was really the one she was referring to...
Yes Hailey"she nodded, I slowly sat back down and grabbing a plate, I helped myself out with different delicacies that had been prepared
Maybe this internship programme wasn't really a bad idea..."I thought as I looked at the woman beside me who didn't pretend at all as she took a bite off the chicken breast she had on her plate
That's my ideal type"I chuckled and focused on my own food.....
