Alex's POV:
There comes a time in your life when you have no idea how to react, how to respond, or what to say. I mean if it were anyone else here besides me than mom, I would have made sure to see to her comfort and maybe even offer a hug but with mom, I am unable to do any of that.
And it's not because I don't want to do it, I want to go and comfort her give her the biggest hug you could possibly imagine, and maybe wipe away her tears and tell her everything will be alright but who am I fooling this is my mom here we are talking about the woman that made sure over the years that we two do not have the kind of easy-going and loving relation a family has or more importantly the bond, a mother and her son share.
"Water?" my instincts suddenly kicked in. You could never go wrong with the water.
"Thank you," see, what did I tell you about the water it works every time. Taking small elegant sips mom capped the bottle back and put it down between us on the table.
