It is the last day of scout camping and it was a mountain hiking day. Sighing, Baekhyun hummed while struggling to balance his steps from climbing up the rocky mountainside carefully. He wiped his sweat with the back of his hand and puffed some ragged breaths. He was holding a red flag in his right hand, tripping countless times in the way, making a certain giant get annoyed but at the same time, he's always there to catch him.
"Tch. Just let me carry you, Baek. Your short legs can't handle the steepness of the mountain." Chanyeol reasoned out, not trusting Baek's clumsiness for the nth time. Baekhyun just glared at him rolling his eyes and ignoring the giant.
The fresh airwaves the atmosphere and the sunlight was seeping from the tree leaves. Bird chirps were heard and the sound of waterfall soothed them from the exhaustion lightly.
Baekhyun nearly tripped from a huge stone and Chanyeol saw it.
"I don't know that short-legged humans are this stubborn." He sighed under his breath.
"Yah! Do you dare to judge my short legs, hm? I will show that short people can also hike a mountain!" Baekhyun exclaimed and ranted like a kid mumbling incoherent words while defending his legs.
Once they reached the top of the mountain, Chanyeol and the rest took a break under a large tree. Baekhyun, being the smallest and the most inexperienced creature he is, has the hardest experience. However, he felt proud and patted his short legs from the achievement and nearly cried in hou but then he yawned tiredly and he felt his body ached from the lack of energy and stamina.
They put the flag in the middle to mark that they've been there and decided to head down the mountain after a few minutes.
The smallest unconsciously leaned on Sehun who was the nearest and shamelessly let his body fall on him. Chanyeol saw how Baekhyun was drained from energy and suddenly felt a churn of guilt from his stomach out of mixed emotions.
First, he felt proud because the so-called puppy reached on top of the mountain without anyone's help. Secondly, he was sad and guilty looking at the tired body of his best friend who fell asleep and snoring loudly like a tired pup.
However, he felt annoyed at how Baekhyun's stubbornness made him frustrated, he asked him a lot of times during the hiking to let him be carried but he rejected it. He offered anything but the stubborn, determined smurf just waved it off and proved that he can climb a mountain with his short legs.
He climbed successfully but look at him now, he looked like a hibernating bear.- And his hands are on Sehun's lap, dangerously close at his...
Without a second thought, Chanyeol snatched Baekhyun on his arms carefully and pulled him away from Sehun possessively, carrying him chest to chest. He put the smaller's arms on his shoulders and lifted him and guided Baekhyun to straddle his legs on his waist and his right hand and arm supported Baekhyun's weight. Baekhyun's head dozed from side to side tirelessly and finally rested on between the crook of Chanyeol's neck and shoulder as he mumbled words dreamily, things like good job short legs.
"He tamed the lion on you, Chanyeol," Suho mocked, seeing the tired Chanyeol carry Baekhyun with security and care. Chanyeol just gave a small sarcastic smile as he carried the sleeping boy.
"Just make sure that he doesn't tame your heart." Kai teased. Chanyeol suddenly cast a death glare just so Kai quickly fastened walking down without uttering another word tripping in process.
"Not sure with that.." Tao commented but Chanyeol already measured his energy to not waste it on arguments or other things right now.
"Let me help." Sehun suddenly offered, matching his steps on the rocky path yet Chanyeol acted as if he heard nothing and lifted Baekhyun more securely.
"Bro, come on. You're giving out. Just let me carry him for a moment." Sehun insisted, his stoic expression showing a little bit of annoyance as he bit back his last pieces of pride to ask Chanyeol nicely.
"I can manage." He announced as he looked straight ahead. Not even glancing at Sehun.
"As you say." Sehun sighed but reached to swipe the fringe out of Baekhyun's sweaty forehead. This made Chanyeol look sharply at the moving hand and then run up to Sehun's face which gradually turned into a threatening look.
Sehun finally gave out, rolling his eyes as he walked faster and quickly grabbed Luhan's backpack.
"Yah! What's that for?!" Luhan complain but Sehun's hands worked unto the deer-faced mouth.
"You'll wake someone up," Sehun spoke rather grumble-ish as he carried the backpack on his.
Luhan blushed then shrugged it off before giving them a good amount of distance.
"Hey, friendly reminder, Baekhyun is not a thing to be shared or not shared with." Kris patted Chanyeol's back. However, the latter didn't have Kris a response as he just walked ahead carefully.
"I promised his mom that he wouldn't come home with any scratch. I'll keep it that way." He spoke curtly before quieting his voice down when Baekhyun shifted on his hold.
After that, everyone is pretty much tired so they no longer irked Chanyeol.
Chanyeol tried his best so that he could maintain balance on his body, making sure that he'll not trip from the rough mountainside, that could hurt the small being. The others didn't utter a word but they secretly took photos of them. And grinning while thinking fishily.

The camping was almost done and that they collected their things including the tents, sleeping bags and some other stuffs to the van. Baekhyun was awoken when he heard the vehicle's engine roared to life, the closing event will be held on their campus for awarding and recognitions, and they must attend there first before finally going home.
Baekhyun saw Chanyeol tiredly throw himself from the couch of the van and let a tired whine. For sure, his body is so tired as well as the others because first, he carried Baekhyun down the mountain, and then they collected all their things to the van.
Soon after, Luhan and the rest fought dominance in the comfy bed except Suho being the driver, Chanyeol and Baekhyun who chose not to compete. They turned on the TV and watched some movies, ignoring their tired leader, and all sprawled on the couch.
Chanyeol uncomfortably shifted on his position as he flexed his legs a couple of times. The smaller noticed this but he just kept quiet and focused his attention on the screen but then Chanyeol's head lolled to the other side yet the latter shook when he realized he's drowsing. He then gave a smile at Baekhyun who looked at him for a while then tried to focus on the screen again, trying to be more attentive and fighting his sleepiness. Baekhyun suddenly felt guilty. He got carried down the mountain and he didn't even help from gathering their things. And now his best friend is suffering from rest deprivation and probably body pain.
Baekhyun being the well-rested one who slept an hour or two, move beside Chanyeol.
"Hey, Chanyeol. Does your back hurts a lot?" Baekhyun asked worriedly dipping his dainty fingers from the middle of the taller's spine. The taller knew that there's no point in lying so he nodded adorably like a sick kid while his eyes closed and hugged the pillow tighter.
"Quite," Chanyeol responded with a slow smile.
"Lay on your chest, Channie," Baekhyun ordered and Chanyeol smiled lightly, giving up, and then faced the soft couch obediently, groaning when he felt a pain in his back.
Baekhyun climbed on top of Chanyeol straddling him trying to balance himself and carefully sat on Chanyeol's lower back.
He massaged Chanyeol's shoulder with his expert hands excellently making Chanyeol hum in satisfaction. Chanyeol's calves and valleys of muscles are thick and hard and Baek exerted a good effort to massage those parts. He smiled relieved when he saw Chanyeol is enjoying himself. He pressed hard with the tips of his fingers and made Chanyeol feel relaxed and groan in satisfaction and then sighed relieved when Baekhyun massage the aching part of his back. Baekhyun also massages Chanyeol's legs, arms, and feet with a pain reliever oil making him fully contented and ache-free.
Chanyeol felt pleased when he was massaged by Baekhyun. Throwing him from deep slumber with a satisfied smile plastered on his face. He got up and lifted the giant's head and put a fluffy pillow beneath it.
He was about to give Chanyeol a quick kiss on the head when Baekhyun realized that the rest of the members are intently looking at the both of them on his peripheral vision. The TV was long neglected and their attention was on Chanyeol who had gotten some heavenly massage from Baekhyun.
They blinked once, twice, thrice in unison before xiumin cleared a throat and called Baekhyun to sit with them casually, alleviating some tensive atmosphere a bit. Chen pulled Baekhyun in the middle of the large bed.
Before they started talking, they surrounded Baekhyun as if he was some sort of a weird plant. Lay breathed and looked at Baekhyun intently.
"Buddy, we just want to say that we're happy that you care for our friend," Lay stated referring to Chanyeol.
"Hm, It's nothing. It's what best friends do." Baek smiled adorably while taking a glimpse at the sleeping giant not far away from them and smiling onwards.
"And Baekhyun, we just want to say that we're happy to meet you." They continued while looking at the confused but pleased puppy. Of course, they will not find unlimited time to have conversations or hangouts again from Baekhyun because of hectic basketball practice. Well, the short span that they shared moments altogether was much appreciated and enjoyed because of Baekhyun's presence.
"Thanks! I'm also happy to know you guys better! And you're so awesome! I will request some autographs from you guys later!" Baekhyun piped up clapping his hands happily.
"But, isn't it a little weird how affectionate Chanyeol is, towards you?" Luhan asked straightforward out of the blue trying to sound more casual.
"Umm, Chanyeol was like this even before we were young so why would I be weirded out?" Baekhyun laughed unsurely squatting and hugging a pillow in his chest, rocking back and forth slightly. The others just looked at each other and some of them hide a laugh as if they just heard a funny joke.
"Chanyeol isn't affectionate to just anybody, Baekhyun. Well, except for you." Kai scoffed.
"I see Chanyeol being affectionate to Jieun," Baekhyun mumbled, confused on where the topic is going to lead.
"I know Chanyeol, Baek. Yeah, maybe Chanyeol is affectionate to that chick but not in the way that he cares, worries, or loves you. I can see it in his eyes, there's something else in his eyes that I couldn't put a finger on when he looks at you. And I know he loves you more than you know. Chanyeol doesn't hug, hold hands or act clingy to Jieun publicly like you do. He doesn't act childishly to people, well except to you. Chanyeol doesn't like skinship, but he doesn't have problems when it's you. Hell, he doesn't even like childish people, but look how he likes you." Kyungsoo said pointing out everything. He unconsciously compared Baekhyun to Chanyeol's girlfriend, Jieun.
So I'm childish, Baekhyun thought.
"You perv him and you'll die the next second," Chen added before laughing.

"I sensed it too," Lay exclaimed.
"Yeah, same here." The rest mumbled.
"I know he loves me, he loves you all too guys maybe he's just shy to show it to you. And for Jieun? Maybe he just wanted to act as a cool boyfriend like in the Kdramas." Baekhyun smiled as he imagined the ones he watched in romance movies. The rest just mentally slapped their foreheads as the stupid Baekhyun couldn't get the idea of the freaking topic was about.
"Hey, stop it! You're confusing the kid." Suho being the more mature and considerate one ordered with a look that they caught up except Baekhyun. They just looked at the front mirror of the jeepney van and nodded.
"Just don't try to hurt Chanyeol's feelings huh? And don't mention that we talked you out about this, he'll kill us." Tao ruffled Baekhyun's hair as he offered a space beside him so that Baekhyun could lay and watch TV.
"Of course, why would I hurt the only person who's always there for me when no one else can?"
