Chapter 1 - Betrayal

In the ruthless world of the mafia, danger and violence are constants. To be part of a mafia family means navigating countless illicit negotiations between rival factions, where bloodshed often becomes unavoidable.

The vendettas between these crime families are fierce, sometimes leading to open warfare—or the hiring of hitmen to eliminate targets with cold precision. In this deadly world, three hitmen stand above the rest, and among them, one is feared the most: Reaper. No one knows the real name behind the title, but one thing is certain—Reaper's skills are unmatched.

A tall woman in a suit strides through the shadows, her footsteps silent. She approaches an older man in his sixties, lounging in a luxurious chair, a cigarette smoldering between his lips. He tosses an envelope onto the table between them, and she leans forward, her movements measured, to retrieve it.

"Everything you need to know about the target is in there," the man says, exhaling smoke. "Kill him, and I'll double your usual fee."

She nods, turning to leave—but swiftly pivots back, a Maxim 9 in her grip, firing a shot that disarms him just as he raises his own gun toward her.

"What do you think you're doing?" Her voice is icy, the gun trained steadily on him. He only chuckles, flicking his cigarette aside.

"Oh, Reaper... it's nothing personal. Just business. I needed a favor from the Clifton family," he sneers, eyes glinting. The Clifton family, after all, is one of the most powerful in the mafia hierarchy.

She maintains a steady, cold gaze, unperturbed by his laughter. "I see."

As they stare each other down, a group of men in black suits floods in from side doors, their guns drawn. Another contingent guards the main entrance, effectively surrounding her. The old man's grin widens.

"Looks like it's time for the Reaper to meet her end," he laughs, his tone mocking.

But as he laughs, he fails to notice her smirk. She closes her eyes momentarily, then tosses a flash grenade into the air. In one swift motion, she draws an Uzi from her suit, firing at the disoriented men as they blindly shoot back, hitting their own allies in the chaos.

After a brutal half-hour, the room falls silent, littered with bodies. She exhales, turning to leave—only to hear the sharp crack of three gunshots.

"Go to hell, Reaper!" The old man's voice is filled with manic glee as she doubles over, blood spilling from her mouth. She smirks through the pain, turning one last time to aim her Maxim 9.

"You're coming with me," she murmurs, firing a bullet straight through his forehead. He collapses, lifeless.

She stumbles out of the room, leaving a trail of blood. Collapsing just outside, she laughs bitterly, the irony of her life as an endless cycle of killing for others not lost on her. Pathetic, she thinks. It's finally my time, isn't it?

As she fades, a loud buzzing sound pierces her ears, jarring her awake.

When she opens her eyes, she finds herself in a strange place. Where am I? she wonders. Is this heaven? Or... no, I've killed too many people. Maybe this is hell.

She glances around and freezes. Her body feels... smaller. She looks down at herself, and her eyes widen.

"What?!" she exclaims, taking in the luxurious surroundings. She's in an enormous bed in a grandiose room, unlike any she's seen before.

A knock on the door breaks her reverie. "Young master Ren, the Marquess requests your presence."

Ren—now the young boy she has somehow become—stares in disbelief. Marquess? Who is Ren? Is that... me? Struggling to remain calm, she tries to think.

Opening the door, she sees a maid in a Victorian-style uniform, her hair neatly tied back, eyes hidden behind dark glasses.

"I'm... not feeling well. Could you lead me to where Father is?" Ren asks, her voice slightly trembling. The maid nods and leads her through the vast mansion.

After a long walk, they stop in front of an elaborate door. "Thank you," Ren murmurs, and the maid bows before departing.

Ren takes a deep breath, steadying herself. The opulent door handle feels foreign as she grasps it, preparing to meet the new reality that awaits on the other side.
