Kai felt his vision getting blurrier while the sounds around him were getting more chaotic.
His whole body was wrecked. He could feel his sharp broken bones poking at his skin from within. He could feel his insides bleeding.
But he didn't have time to worry about any of that as he saw the incoming blade. There was no way he could dodge that quick enough.
Wincing, Kai moved a little and could already feel his abdomen being ruptured. He created a small ice shard from the right corner and shot it at the blade.
"What do you think you're doing?" The opponent asked with a mocking smile. With a gentle flick of his finger the ice shattered as he advanced his blade downwards.
Kai gritted his teeth and glanced back, hoping to see a little through the broken walls.
"What're you looking at?" The person asked, finding the child's behaviour weird. He looked at the house.
"Aha." The opponent's eyes gleamed. "Then I should kill that old hag first, shouldn't I? And then I'll save you for last. That's the price for piercing this hole into my arm." He showed his arm that was dripping with blood.
The assassin jumped through the empty spot where the window used to be and landed into one of the rooms in the house. He slowly walked and found the starting area as he slowly made it inside the room where Lithia laid.
Luar stood at the door and dash front and bit the leg of the intruder but was flung off. It was useless without it's magic. The moment Lithia fell unconscious, it's magic was revoked.
Claude watched as Luar hit the wall with a loud thud as footsteps of the unknown man became louder. Did..they not manage to kill the intruders? What happened?
In a flash, Claude's neck was being squeezed as he felt nails digging in deep into his flesh as dark purple eyes stared into his soul. He froze up and couldn't hear a word of what the person was saying.
"You're her grandson, aren't you? I heard you're quite gifted for your age. But turns out those rumors were false seeing how pathetic you are." The opponent insulted. He waited for a reaction but..nothing.
"Hello? Anyone hoome?" He sang, shaking Claude violently while he proceeded to drop the boy.
The assassin found nothing that could amuse him and he decided to get onto his main task. He grabbed his sword and looked at the old lady on the bed who seemed to be nearing the end of her life span.
Suddenly the assassin felt a zap through his whole body, he turned round and pointed his sword at the new presence in the room. Surprised to see his defeated opponent still moving despite the injuries.
It was almost like an ant you can't seem to get rid off no matter how many times you trample on it.
The assassin looked back and forth from Lithia to the kid who was staggering. He retreated his blade and stabbed it right at Lithia's chest. He could feel the tip of his sword being pushed in.
But to his surprise, it wasn't Lithia he was stabbing. But rather the palm of the white-haired kid. How did he get there so fast?
Kai's other hand was occupied with holding the dagger and pushing it deeply into the abdomen of the assassin. He could feel the excruciating pain rushing from the tip of his hands into his whole arm.
He gritted his teeth and with all the strength he could manage, he pulled the dagger sideways, hoping to tear through the flesh.
The assassin wanted to pull out his sword but he couldn't. The ice built around the tip of his sword and around the palm of the boy's hand, making it difficult to retrieve.
And before he could even give another attempt at getting his sword back, he could feel his abdomen being stabbed by a sharp blade. He could feel it traveling into his flesh and cutting his abdomen into half.
He roared in pain and used his leg to kick the boy away from him, he backed off into the corner, holding onto his big open wound.
Kai didn't give the assassin a break. With his injured hand, he pushed himself up and pulled the sword out from his palm. He ran headfirst and with the sword in front, he pierced it entirely through the body of his opponent.
Once Kai saw the body start sagging and dropping to the ground, he released the blade as he watched the assassin's light in his eyes go out.
Claude had watched the fight from the beginning till the end. He placed one hand over his mouth and started puking everything he ate from the morning till now.
It was a gruesome scene. He couldn't even go and check whether his grandma was alright.
Just as Kai was about to run out and help Mr Walton, he heard loud thumping footsteps closing in.
Did Mr Walton lose..?
But soon, a tall burly figure arrived at the entrance of the door. Cloaked in blood while his face full of worry as he scanned around the room.
"Is Lithia alright?" Mr Walton asked Kai who was staring at him dead in the eye.
Kai replied with a nod as he silently breathed out through his mouth, trying to ease the pain. He looked at Lithia and double checked to make sure she was alright. It was a really close call and a terrible decision made on a whim on his part.
But it did the job. She is alive.
"Claude, where are the healing potions?" Mr Walton asked, looking at his wounds and Kai's. He wondered how the kid was even standing up at this rate.
From what he had seen just now, he saw Kai getting dominated in the fight against the assassin really badly. He barely dodged critical attacks by just an inch. And the impact when the wind attacked him was brutal.
It was a miracle he hasn't fainted yet.
Just as he thought..Kai was a high achiever. Not in a good way.
Claude came back into the room with a wet face and a box half filled with circular bottles that contained a green liquid."This was all I found.." he meekly said.
"Thank you. You can go clean up. Me and Kai will manage this." Mr Walton said, taking over the box and putting it down. Grabbing 2 and passing it to Kai. And taking 1 for himself.
"I thought you were a goner." Kai stated with a small smile, pouring the liquid from the bottle onto his palm and watching it heal slowly. His flesh magically patching itself up. He took a drink of the potion and jolted away in disgust of it's bitter taste.
"Unconfident in your mentor? I thought you knew me well. The longer the fights drag on the stronger I get." Mr Walton bragged while he poured the liquid all over his arms and the sides of his stomach.
Kai stayed silent and finished up the potion while he kept his eye at the entryway of the door. "The antidote. I'm going to get it."
Mr Walton nearly dropped his bottle in shock. He looked at Kai and saw that he was serious. He wanted to avoid this conversation for a bit longer but it didn't seem possible.
He remembered the sight of the gaping hole in the kid's palm. Why was he so adamant on trying so hard?
