At the break of dawn, the doctor and nurses arrived at the ward. Although they were surprised by the bloodstains all over the bed and floor, they attributed them to the wound splitting open and immediately pushed Karen back into the operating room to re-suture the torn wound.
Karen didn't wake up until the afternoon due to the anesthesia.
Upon waking up, he found that he had been moved to a different ward, and Manna was sitting by his bedside. Seeing him awake, Manna asked with concern,
"Are you feeling better, Karen?"
"Yes, much better."
Being stabbed could have been a terrifying experience, but after last night, the wound on his chest now seemed like nothing.
