Chapter 37 - Chapter 37 Sweet burden

Julian felt like a burden was on his heart: not a bitter or bad one but a very sweet one. A burden that he wanted to let out and scream to the world, a very lovely burden that he couldn't keep anymore. But whenever he got an opportunity to let it out, he always let it slide away; he was always scared of saying it, he was scared of being rejected but today after what he saw, he wouldn't let it pass, he wouldn't let today pass by without telling her what he felt for her.

Back then, when he saw Gabriel dancing with her, he felt like his heart had been crushed like he had no soul anymore but what made his dwindled hope pop back was when he heard her sing that song, he don't know why and even though it sounds absurd, he can't just get the thought out of his mind that she sang it for him.

"Ooooh, Julian you can do it," He told himself as he looked at the mirror. Then he adjusted his hair, his clothe and sprayed perfume.

When he dazed out of the restroom, he searched for Jessica everywhere but she was nowhere to be found. So he decided to wait for her in front of the entrance to the hall,

'She would surely pass there to go back to the hall since she wasn't inside' He thought so he leaned on the door and waited anxiously for her arrival.

After a long time, he finally sited her coming in his direction. A smile lit up on his face as he approached her.

As he asked her to go out with him, his heartbeat thundered in his ear as he waited for her reply: even if this wasn't the first time he went out with her, he didn't know why he felt scared,

Was it because of what he was about to tell her Or Was it because this was his first time asking her for a date?

He gazed intently at her as he anticipatedly waited for her reply and in what seemed like a second, she gave him a reply that pleased him, a reply that relieved him and brought a smile to his face.

Then he grabbed her hands and led her out of the building.

As the driver drove them to the park, he couldn't stop gazing at her. She looked so damn beautiful and what made her beauty more supernatural was the cuteness and innocence that followed.

She has a face that even the person with the coldest heart wouldn't be able to ignore. A face that stole his heart when he first sited it and a face that he will never get tired of looking at.

As he kept on staring at her, their gaze met and her face burned red. He felt so damn good seeing her blush for him.

And he was about to compliment her on how beautiful she looked but the car stopped and the drivers' voice distracted them. She peeped through the window out of curiosity and she looked surprised but before he could even get down to open the door for her, she was already out, looking like she was in a dream world. And seeing her like that made him the happiest on earth.

He took her hand again and led her in but throughout the time he realised that she didn't give him much attention, her gaze was fixated on the Ferris wheel and all the other stuff in the park.

He gazed at her and then the wheel before he dropped the cups and grabbed her hands again. He led her to the wheel and he saw her face brighten as she nodded when he asked her if she wanted to ride it.

He felt very happy but he was happier when she rested on his lap. A warm and fuzzy feeling filled him and he smiled but he didn't know that that smile vexed her. As she brought her face up retreating from him, he held her little head and placed it carefully on his shoulder.

She kept holding him, staring at him and resting on him throughout all the rides they took and he felt very very happy, he felt blessed. But the moment which he had been abrogating finally arrived: a moment which he feared and was worried about the outcome.

He took all the courage in him to say those words, to say what he always wanted to tell her but as he waited for her reply, his heart plumped widely and he started questioning himself if he did the right thing,

'What if she said NO! What if he ended in the worst way! What if she didn't like him and she liked Gabriel!' He thought but those thoughts were pushed aside as he heard her reply. His fear and nervousness were immediately turned to joy. And he was glad that he let out those sweet burdens.

[My dear readers,

I want to inform you that this book is on pause.

Something unfortunate happened in my life and I need to attend to it.

It hurts that I will have to stop writing for a while but I have no choice.

if I had one, I would have continued doing what I love to do which is writing.

I am sorry. If I say that you guys haven't tried for me; I am fibbing because I am aware of how you guys have been patient and enduring towards my book.

Thank you, I appreciate and I promise that after this pause, there wouldn't be another one.

This pause wouldn't last long!

Thanks,
