Kendrick groaned and sat back down on his comfortable bed. They continued stacking up one after the other. Despite the fact that he has only recently begun his adventure, difficulties continue to pile up on him.
'Can't I just have one day all by myself?'
And while he continued to stare at the ceiling, he recalled the events of the King's daughter's birthday celebration.
'Should I go all-black? According to the storyline, she will die of food poisoning.'
There were always people who aspired to seize the throne. The King's daughter is compassionate and does not want the throne, but she was also the first to die in the game. Her siblings saw her as a danger, so they formed an alliance with others of nobility and poisoned her, resulting in her death.
There will be a brief blackout in the palace while a banquet is in progress. And one of the nobility would poison her drink, causing her to cough up blood till she died of blood loss.
Of course, even though Kendrick was aware that this event would take place near him because Dan's Alastair position was close to the King's daughter, he had no intention of intervening.
"After all, who knows what will happen if the plot is shifted..."
He didn't want anything like that to happen.
Because whatever he knew about future occurrences would be all for naught.
So, at any cost, he can't afford to keep her alive.
'However, I feel sad for her.'
The fact that he couldn't save her was the thing he despised the most. If the King's daughter was just a mob character or an extra who didn't matter in the story, he'd go out of his way to save her.
'She is definitely meant to be the crowned princess... Because the king liked her the best of all his seeds.
Because she was compassionate, the reigning king favored her the most. While playing the game, Kendrick read the ing's diary during the assassination arc.
The monarch stated that his daughter was the only one capable of governing the realm out of all his seeds. He would have made her the queen of the kingdom if she hadn't died of food poisoning.
"I'm curious who the noble will be who will try to assassinate her... All I know is that one of the antagonists in the main plot, another daughter of the king who directed the plan for the king's assassination, would establish an alliance with other nobles in their realm, including her other siblings, and poison her favorite meal that she will undoubtedly consume at the dinner."
It wasn't revealed who poisoned the king's favorite daughter in the game. The only thing it said was that after the blackout, the king's daughter, who was reportedly blissfully enjoying her birthday, was trembling on the ground and foam was gushing out of her mouth.
The premature demise of an innocent beauty. The death of the future queen.
Kendrick got out of bed and strolled out of his room.
The corridor was drenched in darkness. It was pitch black, as if there were no live beings within the home. It was empty from the start.
Kendrick remembered how the Alastair homes behaved.
"...That's exactly, Alissa despises light..."
In the game, whenever Alissa launches an attack, it is always while the moon is out.
'An everlasting thirsty shadow follows the laughably dim light.'
Kendrick peered out the window. As he sank deeper into his thoughts, he could see the beautiful moon beaming down on him.
'Could it be.... Is there a deeper meaning behind it?'
His gaze surveyed the area around him before settling on the fountain in their courtyard. And in the midst of the fountain stood a statue he had only now spotted. At the middle of the fountain was a golden colossal statue of a lovely lady, her hair like silk.
Most importantly, her face was stunning. She appeared to be in her early twenties or younger. The atmosphere, on the other hand, was quite different. It was foreboding. As though she could murder him at any second.
Kendrick remained still staring at the statue, his body trembling in fear despite the fact that it was not a real person. His body simply reacted subconsciously. Dan Alastair had probably recognized the person depicted in the sculpture. The poor boy had been scarred by the statue's visage at some point in his life.
Kendrick engraved the image of the beautiful statue in his mind. He must keep an eye out for her.
As he returned to his room, Kendrick continued thinking about the statue.
And even as he laid down on his comfortable bed, he maintained her face in his consciousness.
When he awakened, Jredd was standing in the corner of his room, the curtains open, greeting him.
"Good morning, young master."
It looked like it was time for him to get going to the capital if he didn't want to be late.
