The warbats are looked down to Lucas. Their wings flapped furiously, barely keeping them aerial.
[Fusion failed...]
"F-Failed?" Lucas broke into a cold sweat. His eyes dilated as he fixed them on the warbats.
[You cannot fuse in this form...]
'But, if I turn back now...'
A loud screech was heard from above. A warbat had attacked, it spread it's wings, opened it's mouth, then, released a terrifying burst of sound.
BOOM!
Lucas dodged. The outburst from the strike had created a deep crater in the ground. Just a screech, and his life would've been over.
The warbat's chest was puffed out, and it's head was thrown back. It released another burst of sonic energy, a trail of rising dust was seen coming at Lucas.
Lucas darts to the side, evading the attack that would have blown him to his doom. He wasn't going to die here!
"Dark Crescent!"
A thick crescent line of purple energy was sent at the warbat. The warbat lifted it's massive wings before it's body it defence, but the dark crescent simply phased through it's wings, cutting it's body in half.
[XP +100]
[Sonic beast killed without taking damage(bonus)!]
The other warbats were shocked. A single strike from that human-correction, that sword had killed one of them?!
[New skill acquired!]
[Basic di control:
First stage control of di energy. Learn how to control the demon essence in your own soul.]
Lucas smiled. He had acquired a new skill that will be useful in learning what di is all about. Lucas was so deep in his thoughts, he forgot to e was in a dungeon dealing with a group of advanced tier beasts.
The warbats all charged in at once, firing bursts upon bursts of sonic energy, causing the dungeon to quake with each terrifying blast.
Lucas looked up to meet dust rising up behind an invincible force coming at him from all directions. Lucas was too carefree.
"Defence of Paragons!"
BOOM!
Lily frowned. Lucas was in a deep mess already?
"Hey you!"
Lily turned to look at who was so bold to yell at someone in such a great gathering. Her eyes lowered to his wrist, the number '8' was proudly being displayed for everyone to see.
'So that's why he was so bold.' Lily thought as she smirked.
Ever since the watches were introduced, the humans with a higher number often looked down on those with a lower number.
The numbers determined your rank and how much you have contributed to the guild. It also displays the amount of credits you own.
The numbering system were divided into three. The single, double, and triple digits. The more beasts you kill the more points you gain and points are used to number up.
Lily as of now was at number seven, due to the great amount of twisters she fought to protect Lucas's body from being eaten.
Number eight was a tall man with the build of an athlete. His hair was red and spiky, and his face was very angular.
"What is it?" Lily said calmly. Her fingers were running along the rim of her glass cup.
"I wanted to talk to you about something." The man said with a serious expression on his face.
Lily ran her fingers faster round the rim of her cup. If one watched closely they would see blue flames burning after finger.
"Isn't that the famed dragon breather of the Dark hunters team?"
"I heard the two members of that team were monsters. They took out a king tier twister single handedly."
"What! They are really that powerful?! But why is the boss of their team a single digit?"
"We, all know that the number system is new. Maybe he hasn't registered any of his kills."
Lily heard the conversations everyone was having. The tiny blue flames had grown to the size of a fist burning on the glass cup.
Lily lifts her eyes to look at the red spiked haired man. A smirk was on her face as they locked eyes.
That pressure... That was almost on par with an epic levelled aura. Completely beyond human.
"What do you want to talk about?" Lily said as she grabbed the glass cup.
"I actually want to personally recruit you into our team." The red haired man said with his hand held out.
Lily stood up. The glass cup was held firmly in her hand as she walked up to the man before her. She smiled to him.
The man was about to speak, but he instinctively jumped back before a word could escape his lips.
"Sorry, not interested." Lily said with her blade like arm held out.
'Transformation power?' The man thought, trying to gauge Lily's strength.
Lily sized up the red haired man. Her smirk grew as she instantly figured out his power.
"Flame power." Lily blurted out bluntly. She didn't see one of the single digits as a threat.
"Well, it seems you're not the cool headed type."
Lily smiled at that compliment. She was chaos dragon herself, only being whose soul is fiery enough to contain azure flames. Surely she is to be worthy of that title.
'If you're looking for a coolheaded dragon, you better should go hunting down gods.' Lily wanted to spit out, but held herself back.
"This isn't the right time for a fight." Lily said. She wasn't going to fight in the middle of so many civilians whom he could use anytime as meat shields.
"When is the right time?" He took a step forward.
"Tomorrow, at the dueling grounds." Lily said as she walked back to her seat. She now had something else to kill time, the boredom was almost getting to her.
The red haired man stormed off, his men followed soon after.
Lily smiled. A glimmer of anticipation in her eyes as she glared at the red haired man's back.
'Where are you Lucas?' Lily thought.
"Well, it's one rough day now, ain't it." Vicki nudged Lily in the shoulder.
"Yeah, yeah it is." Lily replied with a wry smile.
