"You and Leah certainly are good at finding well-priced items. We didn't even spend half of our budget." Kendra said as they walked back home with many clothes.
"No, correction, I'm good at finding the well-priced items, everything she chose was expensive." Theo said with a smile.
"Really? Maybe I should take you shopping more often then." Kendra said jokingly.
"That could be fun." Theo responded in kind and they both laughed. Kendra sighed at the end of her laugh.
"So, you and Leah, what's going on there?" She asked.
"Not really sure, I guess." Theo said.
"You? Unsure? Are you sure?" Kendra asked jokingly.
"Okay, okay, I get it." Theo said. 'As much as I may try to deny it, my hormones are saying I like her... Feels bad man.' Theo thought to himself. "She's cute, I guess." Theo said.
"You guess?" Kendra asked.
"What else am I supposed to say?" Theo asked.
"Well, that all depends on you, I guess." Kendra said with an emphasis on 'I guess.'
"Alright, I see your point, I use that too much. And uncertain words... She brought that up actually..." Theo said reflectively. "All that aside though, I probably won't be back for a while, seems like it'd be rude to try and start a relationship right before I leave for an extended period of time." Theo said.
"That's true. I certainly wouldn't have wanted your father to do that to me." Kendra said. "Well, it at least won't hurt to talk to her before you leave, at least then you'll certainly have a friend outside the family when you come back." Kendra added. Theo nodded.
"If I run into her, then probably. But I still don't really know about doing that." Theo said.
"Well, do what you do best, and think about it." Kendra said. Theo chuckled.
"Alright, will do, mom." He said.
"Good." She said. "Remember that it's also nice for me to be able to talk to you, alright?" She asked.
"Okay, though I'm not much of a conversationalist." Theo said.
"Seems like Leah spoke with you just fine." Kendra said. Theo stopped dead in his tracks and blushed a bit. "You alright?" Kendra asked.
"Yeah. I'm fine..." He said awkwardly as he continued walking.
"You're embarrassed, aren't you?" Kendra asked.
"Just seeing your point, is all." Theo said as he tried to calm himself a bit. After a while, and more *fun* conversation, they made it back home.
"Remember, to pack all that you won't need for the next few days." Kendra said as they entered the house. Theo nodded. "Alright, I trust you to take care of it, so go on and pack." She said as she handed him all the clothes she was carrying.
"Right." Theo said, then went to go pack all his belongings. Kendra went to her room where she saw John preparing things for the trip.
"So, how'd you're shopping trip go?" He asked. Kendra put five small silvers on the bed as she sat down.
"Pretty good, Theo has an eye for price, apparently." Kendra said.
"That why you only spent half?" He asked.
"Yeah." She said with a sigh.
"Something wrong?" John asked.
"It's just... Theo's growing up, and I wasn't even there for half of it." She said.
"Oh, so he has a crush, then?" John asked.
"Yes! And it's awful! Soon enough, all he'll ever want to do is spend time with her and I'll be left in the dust!" Kendra said as she laid down John chuckled.
"Theo's a good kid. There's no way he'd forget about his mother." John said as he leaned over Kendra. ('Bout that.) Kendra put her hands on the sides of John's face and pulled him closer, giving him a kiss.
"I love you. You're always willing to deal with my antics, I appreciate it." Kendra said.
"I love you too." John said. Kendra gave him another kiss.
Theo heard a knock on his door as he finished organizing the clothes and getting ready to pack them. He walked over to the door and opened it.
"Mom and dad are..." Sydney said with a gag.
"Come on in." Theo said with a sigh. Sydney nodded and entered, Theo, closing the door behind her, but not before he heard some faint moans.
"Thanks." Sydney said as she walked over to his bed and sat down..
"No problem. Nobody wants to hear any of... That..." Theo said as he made a motion towards the door. Sydney laughed a bit. "Anyway, anything I can do for you while you're in here? Water? A packing case? Literally, anything magic related?" Theo asked. Sydney laughed.
"Nope, just gotta wait for them to finish." Sydney said as she let herself fall back onto the bed.
"Then I'll just continue packing." Theo said. Sydney gave a thumbs up.
'Ignoring how disgusting it is to think about what they're doing, it at least means I was right about what would happen once Theo was home...' Sydney thought to herself as she stared at the ceiling.
The rest of the day passed rather uneventfully. The other days leading up to the trip passed along in a similar manner, excluding the shopping portion.
Theo laid awake on his bed, playing with his water magic, morphing it into various mythical creatures and animating them a bit, when he heard a knock at his door before it was opened.
"The carriage is here." Kendra said lightly. Theo dispersed the water and sat up.
"Alright." He said as he got off of his bed. Kendra nodded and walked away, leaving the door open. Theo grabbed his luggage and walked out of his room, closing the door behind him. He walked to the front door and looked out the window as he grabbed his staff.
He could see a carriage, his family entering said carriage, and somebody ready to drive said carriage. He exited the house and walked to the carriage.
