Chapter 3 - The storm is calling

The elder librarian Do, was a cruel but indifferent man, he didn't even care about my presence there, as I advanced towards him his eyes never met mine, but I knew it somehow, that I wouldn't be able to do anything against him even if I tried. When I got in front of him, I put the document that I had received on the desk.

"You know the rules?" He said without looking at me.

"Yes, elder" I said saluting him in a martial pose.

"You can pick only one book" He said anyways "If you try to steal another, or damage one of the books, I will kill you slowly and painfully".

I knew it was true, so I just nodded my head and walked past the inner door of the library, the Pavilion was a place where the sect stored the cultivation methods they had gathered, stolen, or created, it didn't matter now, it was now part of the [Shadow Crow] sect. The shelves were full of manuscripts and books, some read things like The whirlwind spider, the roar of the sea dragon, hidden handstamp, and similar names, obviously, I didn't know any of those, actually, I didn't have any cultivation method in my mind, I felt nervous... a wrong choice and I would doom myself... when suddenly a transparent window appeared in front of me.

"Do you want to begin the automatic search? Y/N"

I felt strange like I knew something about this from the time I lost my memories, from the time I had died, I felt excited and my heart pounded like crazy in my chest.

"Yes" I pick the letter in the transparent window.

"Scanning body aptitude" It began to read in the window "Calculating possibilities... Concluded, please pick the selected book"

Suddenly I saw a blue glow in the corner of the library, it was on a shelf that looked old, all the books there looked like they had fulfilled their purpose and were ready for getting disposed of. The glowing book was even somewhat eaten by moths in the corners, it read The demon that stole the storm on its cover.

"Is this the one?"

I didn't know if I could trust that strange window that appeared in front of me, but it seemed that it was trying to help me with my problem, not like picking anything else at random would be any better, so I took a deep breath and walked out to the librarian and showed him my pick. The elder, for the first time, looked at me with a dumbfounded face.

"Are you stupid little girl?" He said insulting me "Well what else can I expect from a farmer" He insulted me again shaking his head "Those books were about to get disposed, but if you want it so much, you can have it, be as it may be if you want to cripple yourself go on, you already picked"

With his reassuring words and authorization, I took the book and left the library back to my room. I didn't exactly know what he meant about this cultivation cripling me, but that couldn't be good... but yet again, the window showed this one to be my best option, I guess I will have to take my chances and risk it all.
