I wake up normally and get ready for school, though this year is a little different. I don't know why but the atmosphere didn't feel right.
"What's the matter, Aaron?" Sarah asks in a concerning tone.
"Nothing, I'm fine," I say initially.
"You guys don't feel? I don't know uncertain about, today do you?" I finish off.
"Nope" they both simultaneously respond.
The doors of the worn-down public school that the whole village attends reeks of spoiled fruit and ketchup packets welcomes me with a sinister grin.
"How do you already ruin the school the first day hasn't even started," I whisper to my siblings.
They both shrug. Sarah splits off and goes to her respective zone. Our school is divided into Zones. Zone 1 which is Sarah's Zone is the PreK to 5th-grade zone. Zone 2 is 6th to 8th grade. Lastly, it's Zone 3 me and Micheal's zone it was the high school section, trust me, I wasn't looking forward to this year.
Michael soon splits off with his senior friends, and I'm left alone but I'm fine with that.
"Hey everyone" I announce to class.
"Hey Aaron!" the few that were in class seemed to be genuinely ecstatic that I'm here. We engage in the typical summer to fall banter "How was summer?" "Really, how interesting", and "Good to see you again." Granted I didn't mind it.
We're soon seated for class and a group of loud kids enter late. One engages in fierce eye contact with me, and I immediately dart my eyes away from theirs.
"Did you hear those kids picked a fight with a Perfectionist and won?" My heart drops, why in the hell is he in Perfectionist territory, that could get us all killed.
"Wait are you being serious?" I ask frantically.
"He's there if you want a definite answer." I frown at my classmate. But nonetheless, I walk over.
"I heard you guys picked a fight with a perfectionist?" I tried to be straightforward but not downright stupid.
"And won" the bulkier tall pale kid replies.
"Why?" I respond.
"Because no one walks over my people". He laughs with a heftiness to it.
I grit my teeth, "What?!" I say in an aggravated tone.
"You gettin' tough with me," He says as he bucks at me.
I back up. The class laughs and could you blame them? I completely just got punked there. Before I can snap back a huge crash sends the whole campus in a shockwave of vibrations.
I fall and quickly get up back to my feet and gaze at what sent us through that.
"IT'S THE PERFECTIONIS- "the girl that screamed had a bullet sent straight through her head. My eyes lose focus and fear completely washes over the entire class.
