Chapter 4 - The Short Lived Imp Mouth

Metamorphosis! Choose a new body part.

Head.

Sword

Arm

Mouth.

The scarecrow glossed over the different options. It wondered over what the sword option would do, but then it realized that it could eat twice as fast with another mouth. That was more than enough for it to make its deciison.

It clicked the button and heard its skin twist and pop. Branches inside of the scarecrow broke, and new ones grew. It felt its chest itch like hell, as if a thousand ants were biting into it

"Hello new friend!" A voice said, in a language the scarecrow understood. The voice was light, and a bit light going, as if it had no responsibilities except speaking. Oh.

The voice intrigued it. Could it mean power?

"We ta-olk?" The scarecrow said. It was the first time it had used its tongue for anything other than screeching. The pronunciation came off a bit strange, and it didn't quite know the langauge it was speaking. It looked down onto the mouth on its chest.

"And I'm stuck with a moron," the mouth said, "that's great, just great. How are you even strong enough to contain me?"

"Wha-ht, awe youuu?" The scarecrow said.

"The most powerful demon, or as people usually called me, an imp, and now, your second mouth."

A creature jumped out from behind the bush. It was partly wolf, but also partly something very stupid. The scarecrow could see it on its face.

Its mouth was open, like a happy dog, and its big tongue was hanging out. Drool hung off his jaw, and drops of spit came out. It was big, its head reaching the scarecrow's abdomen. It looked like a wolf addicted to crack cocaine.

"What the fuck is that?" The imp said.

The scarecrow did what it knew to do, very little, and pressed out mana out of its arm. The mana didn't reach the wolf before floating up into the sky and dissipating. Its mana reserves were huge so it could do this forver. But it didn't seem to have any affect on the wolf.

The wolf wouldn't have attacked the scarecrow if it had intelligence, since a bundle of walking sticks wouldn't have meat on it, but since it was stupid, it charged at the scarecrow. The scarecrow pushed even more mana out of its arm, and somehting inside of it snapped, and it could suddenly push much more mana out, but it was too late.

The second the wolf's jaw reached the scarecrow, everything went black. The scarecrow found itself floating through pitch blackness, as if it were submerged underwater. Was that everything?

Suddenly, the scarecrow woke up. It was in the middle of a farm.
