Bing! Bing! Bing!
Every time Tina stepped on one of the blinking platforms, the sounds of bells could be heard as if it was a game congratulating players on their success.
Even though Tina pretty much did this every day, she felt quite satisfied since, on her first days here, she had to be carried until her stats met the mark.
Hearing the little dings was enough for her to feel proud of her improvement.
Nina on the other hand felt a bit taken back since she was not prepared for this kind of fast travel.
She might be protected from the pressure that would fall on someone from going at such an inhuman speed but also made the journey kind of boring.
Nina clearly remembered what it had felt like back in the day for her to speed through one city to another in mere minutes.
The freedom you feel when the wind is blowing on your whole body and you feel like you have become one with nature. With the spell that surrounded her, the drag was heavily reduced and she felt like it was a regular walk.
"Ah, here you go." Tina put Nina down and surveyed the indoors as if she was looking for someone.
Nina also looked around but realized that the inside is not as magnificent as the artistic masterpiece that is the outside.
There were no decorations except the few potted plants and flowers of various colors. No furniture either except for the seats at the receptionist desk.
All the walls and floors were dramatically shiny as if they were cleaned every couple of minutes. They did lack color though since everything was either black, white, or gray.
There was also a lot of men and women chattering about random things here in there that made up for the sad atmosphere. All it took was some social humans to liven up this dry husk of a workplace.
"Wahahaha!" laughed a 7 feet tall, bald man with broad shoulders and over muscular arms. He walked towards the sisters while dragging a large, double-bladed ax behind him. The ax was intimidating to most people who looked at it since was made with bones and painted in red as if it was taken right out of a battlefield.
"When's the last time you came to headquarters? Everyone has missed you so much, Tina." said the man. When Nina got a closer look at his face, she realized that he was probably nearing his 50's.
There seemed to be a deep sadness and flashes of regret that could be seen in his experienced eyes as he let out a wide smile and rubbed his scruffy beard.
"Indeed, it has been a while, Captain Terrance. I've been busy with work." Tina gave a perfunctory answer with her cold tone.
She then looked at Nina and said, "This is my little sister that I mentioned. She just finished her time on my family's island."
Terrance's deep brown eyes scanned Nina with a scrutinizing gaze. He seemed to behave some doubts about what Tina said.
'What Island? Do you own an island? Is my new family rich?' Nina does not know how to react as she was very poor after all. She was born poor.
Nina had earned a significant amount of money on the battlefields of Soreibus and its dungeons but could never spend it. She had become a demon queen who spent all of her waking hours managing her territory and keeping an iron fist love the unruly demons.
It was never easy and full of stress in the form of paperwork.
Nina still did it since it kept her mind off things she did not want to deal with.
Sure, she had good food, furniture, clothes, and luxurious baths but that was it. She had seen the lives that human queens lived and felt as I was much more realizing and filled with free time.
"I see. What's her class?" asked Terrance, if she was going to be trained, they needed to know her field.
"Oh, I haven't had the time to see it myself. Nina, can you show us your class." Tina smiled and asked nicely, discarding the cold facade in second. She put it back on right after she made her request.
'Alright system, the hidden effect of the skill you gave me better work.'
[Of course, it works. The system neither lies nor does it scam.]
'Okay then here goes nothing.'
"Okie, big sis." Tina then gave a string of commands in her mind and a blue screen that is visible to anyone who has a system and is in the vicinity.
[Name: Nina Rothcinth
Race: Human
Level: 25
Class: Quintuple Elemental Demonicly Cursed Sorceress ( SS-Rank Class)]
The entrance of the building which was filled with dozens of people chattering with each other went silent. It was very rare for someone to openly display their class in public.
The person who displayed it was also standing next to the notorious Tina Rothcinth but also the man that is known as the trainer from hell, Terrance Berkson.
They were curious about what kind of class she would have but were not expecting much from a 12-year-old girl.
"WHAT THE FUCK!"
"WHAT THE FUCK!"
The silence that lasted for a full 10 seconds was broken by the voices of Tina and Terrance whose reactions were in sync. Everything from the startled tone to the bewildered expression.
The 10 seconds were not enough for the two to process what they had seen. Honestly, it was not enough for anyone in the reception area.
"Hmm? Is my class bad?" asked Nina with a curious expression.
'Of course, it's not bad! I know exactly what class it this and how it's practically impossible for a 12-year-old to have this.' Nina knew what it meant to have an S-Rank class at her current age.
She also knew that the system had bamboozled her once again.
[Racial Transgression (Mythic Grade Skill) - A skill extracted from the Goddess Of Beauty. This skill allows one to change their physical appearance and hide their true race from onlookers.]
This skill also allowed one to hide not only their race but class. This was one of its hidden options as no mythic grade skills would be simple.
(Author's Note: Skill ranks from lowest to highest - Common > Uncommon > Rare > Ultra Rare > Super Rare > Super Super Rare > Epic > Legendary > Mythic > God)
Nina had originally asked the system to use the skill to set her class as the [Dual Elemental Mage ( B-Rank Class)].
Everyone in this world knows that the system bestows people with upgradable classes from the moment they are born. Not everyone gets equal classes as the system dictates the class it gives based on the baby's inherent talent.
If you are born with a B or above class, you are considered seriously talented and can be very rich and powerful. Even C rank classes can make a decent living. Anyone with classes in the range of D to G rank is at the bottom rungs of society.
They often do not even attempt to go on dungeon runs as it would be a waste of time.
Everyone also knows that the higher class you start with, the more time you have to grow and the higher your possible skill ceiling. Unfortunately, it is also much harder to upgrade classes that were already high up.
Nevertheless, having a SS - Rank class in this world means that the system recognizes you to have unparalleled talent.
Now, for Nina whose levels are in the '20s, it was too early to have met the conditions for her class to get an upgrade.
'Oh my...then she was born with an SS-Rank Class. That's it. I will make sure she becomes a world-devouring monster or it will be a complete waste.' thought Tina.
She had already seen Nina cast 7 spells at once and had masterful control over them. She just needed to learn to restrain and she could become a major force on this planet if given enough levels.
"No no. Nina, your class is great so we are surprised. But your control is very bad alright," said Tina pleasingly.
"Then Nina will learn control. Will you give me cake if I do?"
"Yes. Big sis Tina will give little Nina cake for dessert tonight as long as you
"Yassss! Anything for cake," said Nina as she started running around in circles.
'Shit! I do want cake but the system shows me no mercy," As a full-grown adult, Nina hated the fact that she not only had a cute and childish sounding name, she was acting like an actual 7-year-old.
Of course, Nina is not the name she was born with but given from the system for her new life.
"I will take Nina and handle the paperwork for her training. Tina, you should head to work," said Terrance as she looked at Nina with bright eyes as if he was looking at some treasure.
"Alright then. I'll see you after 7. I'll bring some sweets with me Nina so behave and learn well."
"Nina will be a good girl then. Bye, big sis."
"Bye." Tina patted Nina's head and then she was gone. Only a gust of wind was left in her place.
.....
As Nina was walking through the corridor, she asked the system why it labeled her as an SS-Rank class holder. Even on Soreibus, Only 12 people were born with SS-Rank classes. Most of them capped off at SSS-Rank while some of them even made it to an even higher rank.
She didn't know what this rank was as anyone who was rumored to achieve it had disappeared soon after but there was definite evidence of a higher class rank existing.
[The system chose your current class because it is perfect for your situation.
First, you are someone who has access to pretty much all the basic and well-known elements along with the holy and demonic elements.
A multi-elemental mage class was necessary if you want to use all your spells without hindrance.
A multi-elemental mage class has the lowest rating of B-Rank.
Second, being a spirit, your physical stats are abysmally low such as defense, vitality, and strength. What kind of ghost would have good vitality anyway.
So for that, I needed to give you a class that also makes you have terrible physical stats gains. That is why I looked at the cursed series of classes that drain your physical stats in exchange for extra intelligence stats.
The minimum rank of cursed classes is A rank.
Finally, you can use demonic arts since it was a blessing cast in your soul by the demon god when you became queen. That's why your class has to do something with demons.
This class is the only one that fitted all of those requirements. Do you understand my action now?]
The system had to cover the entirety of Nina's frontal view in order to display all of this information to her.
It didn't take long for Nina to process all of this info dumb with her high INT stat but it still felt overwhelming.
She is a spirit disguised as human but with blessings from her previous life that allow her to use spells from practically any element and also demonic arts.
She also has very terrible physical stats except for agility to so given her unique condition, the system had to find a class that made sense of all her quirks.
'I now understand what you want to do but I wanted to live a quiet and fulfilling life.'
[ The system promises the user that the only way for individuals on this planet to live a fulfilling life is by living one that was as boisterous and loud as your previous one. ]
'Do you care to explain?'
[ The system would have already explained if it wanted to. ]
'Yeah...I know.'
Nina would once again have to take the system's word for it. She had no choice about these things as she was sure that time would tell. She may have some childish sides to her but she was already a fully grown woman in her previous life.
One that had seen a lot of things and understood both the cruelty and the surrealness of reality.
The system didn't have to explain why she needed strength as she also had known that strength is indispensable.
She couldn't fight the systems forced skill until she figured out this world and understood how to act socially on her own.
"Ms. Rothcinth, please take a seat on this chair. In front of you are all the books that pertain to all the American school courses from Kindergarten to 6th grade. There are also some prep workbooks for the 7th grade." said a brown-haired, middle-aged woman in a miniskirt and business suit.
She wore glasses and had the dignified look of a personal secretary to a big business CEO.
"Thank you, miss Chandler. Can I get some snacks while I study," asked Nina delicately.
"Of course. I will bring them later. Please remember that we will take a diagnostic test for you half an hour later to see where your education level is at. You may relax in the meantime."
Ms.Chandler then left this library-esque room to get some snacks for Nina.
After she was gone, Nina let out a big sigh.
The hundreds of books that pilled into small mountains on the overly long wooden table in front of her made her want to scream in frustration.
It reminded her too much of the torturous paperwork stacked sky-high that she had to go through every day.
She could only hope that studying school material isn't too bad.
Unfortunately for her, schoolwork ended up being hundreds of times worse than managerial paperwork.
