Chapter 8 - Unconditional support!

"He lost too much blood!"

Dom wasn't sure how much time had passed when he finally awoke, but he knew he was in a safe area. He was in a guest room Tu kept for him just in case he ever needed to spend the night. As he went to lean forward he felt a sharp pain in his abdomen. 'Ugh... I was too reckless...' Dom thought as he looked to his side. A dresser with a mirror on it was beside his bed. He looked into the mirror and saw himself covered in bandages, injuries varying from small scratches to large gashes could be seen all over his body. The most noticeable one was the one covering his face. A worrying thought appeared in Doms mind. 'What about my blood? Will I have to restart the process?' He decided to check and was surprised to see new foreign blood was quickly being transformed into his own blood and new blood was being produced, meaning that Dom had nothing to fear.

With a sigh of relief he looked at his HoloRing that was still on his hand and checked the time. It was 3 AM so Dom decided not to leave the room yet. 'I should focus on Dragofying the rest of my skin that doesn't have wounds, since I have some alone time' So Dom did exactly that. He only finished when he heard Tu knock on the door and quickly allowed her in. When Tu walked in a wave of relief was visible in her eyes. "I figured you were awake you little knuckle head!" she said with a pout, "I heard you groaning for hours! I hope you know that it was your own fault!" Listening to his aunt Dom smiled softly.

Tu looked extremely pale and Dom knew she had stayed awake worried about him all night, "Sorry for making you worry Auntie" Sighing, Tu gave up her angry facade and embraced her nephew with watery eyes. "You better be!" Dom hugged his aunt to calm her. They stayed like that for a few more moments before Tu straightened her posture. "Now then! I think we have some things to discuss. Come eat breakfast with me" Dom nodded before shakily standing. He still felt weak and sore but it was somehow satisfying to him.

Arriving at the table, there were two dishes spread out waiting for them. Dom guessed that Eva was at school, and that's why there were only two portions and only one worried family member present. They sat and Tu was the first to speak. "After watching your performance yesterday I think it's best you leave that hell hole you so stubbornly want to stay in" Dom looked at her with wide eyes as she continued. "I'm sick and tired of hearing you say that you want the bare minimum, from now on, you are to stay here and accept my unconditional support!" Dom shot out of his seat and was about to protest when Tu shushed him, silencing his arguments before they could begin. "I don't want to hear another peep out of you! This is final! And if your pride won't allow the help for free then take it as a down payment!"

Dom couldn't find fault in what his aunt was saying. Once his aunt took over as his guardian she wanted to provide everything for him, but he refused and asked her to give him only the bare minimum, despite her protests. He told her that she shouldn't support him since he would never be able to pay her back. Needless to say that it infuriated her, but he always felt like a nuisance. 'I guess I don't have any excuses... maybe I can help her in someway..?' Dom thought.

"Alright Aunt Tu I'll accept your support-" Dom looked at her, but before he continued she cut him off. "That's great Domikins! Oh I know! I have to get you a new HoloRing, new clothing, new-" Tu continued to list things off excitedly "Aunt Tu I haven't finished." Tu looked dejected by what he said but signaled him to keep going. "I'll accept the support, but it won't be unconditional. If you have anything you want or need from me, you ask me. That is all that I ask." Tu pondered for a moment, then beamed as bright as the sun. "That shouldn't be a problem!" She cried with excitement.

The rest of breakfast went smoothly as Tu ordered many things for Dom. After they finished their meals Tu looked over at Dom. "Another thing, you can't attend school with those injuries, so I'll be getting you some books. You don't have to worry though, I have already informed the school of your absence. Now get to bed Domikins, Auntie is gonna take care of you!" Tu said with a big smile.

Dom shuffled over to the room, his aunt right behind him to make sure he got his rest. "Auntie, I need to know... what happened after I blacked out?" Dom questioned, and Tu quickly filled him in. After Dom blacked out the elf girl he liked turned out to know a healing spell and she healed him enough to stop the bleeding. Gerard's condition was messy but not dangerous. Once Dom was stable the elves left since they had important matters, and they called Tu's private doctor to perform a blood transfusion. After discovering everything that transpired Dom got onto his bed and Tu closed the door behind her.

'Well the last couple of days have been busy... I guess since I won't be attending class I can relax a bit and continue Dragofication.' Dom thought as he turned on a Magivision (it's a product that is like a TV but powered by Mana). After turning the device on, a news highlight appeared. "Yesterday at 7 PM a terrifying event occurred. As you can see, behind me is a gate. This particular gate is a newborn and 4 monsters had appeared in town. The mayor has asked that all people be cautious if they must leave their homes. We will continue this story with updates at 11." Dom looked at the MV (Magivision) and shook his head. 'Another gate? I hope this one is temporary.' Gates are portals to another world, as such people and monsters can traverse through without any hindrances. "Well, no matter! I have to heal and become stronger!" Dom quickly changed the channel as Tu walked in with a stack of books.

"Oh no!" Dom whimpered.

"Oh yeah!" Tu cheered.
