"Over Here!" Everest yelled as Kronos and Silvia walked towards him. The sun shined above them as Everest huffed, "I've been waiting for hours! What took so long?" Silvia glanced at Kronos and blushed. Everest's face then twisted into a grimace,"Oh, ewe! Here's the stuff!" Everest held his hands out. "Bleeding fern, sage, and witch hazel?" Kronos asked. "Ya, it's all there...just take it! My nose is burning and I can't look at you guys right now!" Everest said scrunching his face. "What did the council decide?" Kronos asked. "There going to send an invite for you both to make an appearance before the court. I didn't hear everything that was said but Emmett said something about a petition for a hunt." Kronos growled loudly and Everest's eyes widened in shock. "Go find out what you can...I don't want any surprises." Kronos said and Everest nodded before shifting and running down the gravel road. "Come on baby..." He said to Silvia before taking her hand. As they opened the door to the cabin Raven rushed towards them. " Finally!" She yelled grabbing the satchel from their hands. Hair started to appear on Kronos' arms and Silvia nudged him. His eyes then went to her and he smiled slightly. "It still has to brew! Timing is everything!" Raven snapped. Silvia felt her heart race. "What if it doesn't work?" She asked. "Then we'll figure something else out." Her mother said coming over to squeeze her hand. She also glared at Raven and she rolled her eyes. "You'll be safe no matter what..." Raven grumbled under her breath. Hours passed, the sun had set, and the potion was still brewing. Kronos stayed beside her the whole time not saying anything. "The eclipse will be in about four hours...The potion is just about done and then we can do an incantation together. We each need a sip after that." Raven said smiling at Silvia. "I don't know how..." Silvia sighed. Raven stopped stirring and took the steaming pot to a strainer. The potion looked dark and smelled awful. Raven laughed, "You should see your face! Don't worry, once spelled it'll be a lot more appealing." She then went to grab a piece of paper and wrote some words down. "We will hold hands and say this together once this cools in two hours. Then once it's infused we each take a sip. It'll protect us from any curse. All you have to do is memorize that and focus on the vile when the time comes." Raven explained as she handed the paper to her. The writing wasn't even in English. "What does this say?" Silvia questioned holding it up. "Custodi nos Incolumes." Raven shrugged. "What's that mean?" Silvia asked. "Keep us safe...in Latin. It doesn't have to be in Latin. Raven just likes to be dramatic." Her mother answered. Raven scoffed, "I'm not being dramatic! This is serious! We need to do it right!" "Just focus what you want into the potion. Say it or don't the magic will flow the same." Her mother said squeezing her hand and walking away. "We 're going to do this right Phenix!" Raven snapped and Silvia's mother turned with a gasp. Tears were streaking her face as hatred beamed in her eyes and she ran into the back bedroom slamming the door. Silvia looked at Raven in shock, "That's not her name..." "It was her name...The one I gave her... Her father was a warlock. The only man I thought worthy. He said he didn't need another daughter and we were dead to him. A Phenix rises from death anew. Most witches are named from nature. Phoenixes are so rare and beautiful...Your mother had the best fire magic. She burnt a whole village down when they tried to burn her at the stake once. It was a fitting name but she wanted to forget or get back at me so changed it." Raven said with a glazed expression on her face. Silvia didn't know why she kept getting surprised. It seemed this whole world had been hidden from her. Of course Phoenixes exist! Then feeling like she didn't know anything about anyone. "What was she like?" Silvia asked and Raven's eyes lit up. "She was a wicked little witch. " She smiled. Silvia sighed and looked at Kronos. "I'm going to go talk to her...Please don't kill my grandmother." Silvia said as he glared. "No promises.." he growled and Raven laughed, "The potion is still cooling...I'll go for a walk."
