Three days went by; Shu and the others made a small camp inside of the waterfall the girls had found.
The roles were set immediately, the children would receive the most amount of food and protection, the women would cook and the men would go out to patrol and hunt.
It didn't matter how physically strong they were, they had no sanctuary energy so they couldn't go on fighting for a long time and because of lack of energy they could let use the strength they were so used to.
They would leave the waterfall mountain quietly, they'd hunt for food; gathering things such as fruits and killing whatever animal they found, which wasn't a lot since those beams of energy that rained down on them just a few days ago had gotten rid of most life on earth, so getting meat was quiet difficult.
Fu, Bjorn and Shu knew how to build so they wear able to make a few shacks inside of the waterfall for them to live in for the time being, though of course they were in terrible condition; they couldn't just use their sanctuary energy to increase their speed and other physical attributes.
This was like an entirely new life for them, after all they lived with this energy.
" Alright, choose your sparring partners, we're training today too "
Fu said as he bit down on an apple, looking over at the men in the group who just stared back at him, and just when they were about to choose their partners the group was interrupted by Ayami who started talking
" How about instead of sparring we go find Ean and his family? "
Ayami suggested, sitting beside a fire whilst heating up a few pieces of meat stuck to the tip of a tip
" You know as much as anyone here that we can't just go out to search for him, not right now "
Shu replied as Ayami simply glared at him, sucking in her lips in irritation
" Well, hadn't you gotten into a fight with him he could've been here, save with us "
Ayami said as she grabbed one of the sticks, offering it to her daughter Asami who carefully grabbed it bringing the piece of meat close to her face, blowing it carefully as if to cool it down
" Well our fight was about the future of our country, it couldn't have been avoided, plus I couldn't have known an Alien Invasion was going to happen "
He said, turning over to Lenmio and Netty whilst saying that last part before looking back at his wife
" What was the fight about? "
Ayami questioned, raising her left eyebrow whilst Shu simply stayed silent, just for Ayami to tilt her head in confusion
" What's wrong? Can't tell me what the fight was about? Was it because it was a useless argument? Or because you were in the wrong? "
She added, just for Shu to glare at her, not really understanding why she was getting so aggravated over this, right now of all times
" It was because of me "
Fu said, interrupting Ayami who was about to open her mouth, just to turn and look over at the purple haired man with annoyance
" What does he mean? "
Ayami questioned, as she looked back at her husband, showing a clear dislike for her biological father whilst turning her gaze away from him
" Well, Fu offered to defeat our enemy, I said— "
Shu went on to explain what happened, giving her every detail he could possibly give her which just caused Ayami's anger to grow more and more with every word that came out of Shu's mouth; never had she been this upset at her husband, never in the eight years she's known him
" So because of your stupidity and stubbornness to not receive help, you had a fight with Ean!?! "
Ayami said, quickly walking over to Shu who just stared at her, starting to get annoyed
" Yeah, i did, and I had a good reason to do it "
He replied, as Ayami would then grab him by his collar, pulling him close whilst glaring into his eyes
" Your reason was selfish and— "
" Selfish!?! You're one to talk about selfish "
Shu said as he would then push Ayami off of him, causing her to trip over a rock and land on her back, scraping her hands and elbows
" I heard you, you know? When me and Ean were fighting, everyone wanted to interrupt but you told them not to, because you believed we had a good reason to fight. You could've told Fu to stop our fight but you didn't because you not only believed our reason to fight was valid, but you were also so busy being enemies with him that you didn't bother "
Shu replied, raising his voice the more he talked, getting angrier and angrier as he kept going
" You don't really care about him or his family anyway do you? Because if you actually did, you would've been arguing with me about this, days before today. You're just so stressed that you want a reason to argue; you're probably feeling like this because you lost your mother, and Fu here is reminding you of that, isn't that right? "
Shu added, as he would then grip his hands tightly, forming fists whilst his anger grew
" I guess you got tired of arguing and blaming Fu so now you're blaming me as a form of coping for your suffering like the little girl you are; well guess what my beloved wife, you aren't the only one who's gone through shit "
He suddenly stopped as he tears began to fall from Ayami's eyes, making him feel somewhat guilty, but all he did was take a deep breath in and release his fists, taking a few steps back a few seconds
" Also, don't forget that this is your fault, all that's happening now, you stopped me from sending these aliens back to their planet which led to their enemies to come here; all the death and suffering today is because of you, so don't ever talk to me about selfish shit, when you're the most selfish out of us all "
Shu said, ending his long rant, which left everyone quiet; the only things that could be heard was the fire and the water from the waterfall.
Shu looked around for a few seconds, as everyone just stared at him, making him feel more guilt for everything he said.
He gulped a little before stretching his hand out to Ayami, planning to help her up and apologize but she just simply started to cry, which caused him to pull his hand back and take a few steps back
" I'm leaving "
He said, before walking out of the small cave inside of the waterfall, rushing out as the other women tended to Ayami, and Fu followed after Shu
