Chapter 281 - A king’s responsibility

" Hey Tekken, sorry to bother you, but could you help me with some something, or at least give me a bit of advice? "

Shu questioned as he placed his hand on the man's shoulder. Tekken simply looked up at Shu, only to stand up from the couch he was sitting in

" Sure, what's up? "

He replied, as he would then placed his hands behind his head, looking over at his nephew

" Uh, follow me "

Shu said before walking out of the leaving, through the halls, and over to the backyard all whilst being followed by Tekken, Shu looked around for a bit before jumping over the castle, landing on the roof, only for Tekken to do the same

" So what's wrong? "

The demon man questioned whilst sitting down, only for Shut to do the same

" I excel in my martial arts, or at least that's what I'm told, but for the war that's coming, for me to defeat the demon over at the next continent, I need something more than just speed, strength and skills, I don't know what it is that I need, so I was hoping that you could help me understand "

Shu explained, as he would then look over at Tekken who stared at him with his eyes wide open, giving the white haired man an innocent look

" Well, when we were fighting, you didn't bother to use your ability "

Tekken replied, as he would then look over at Shu who simply stared down at the ground, seemingly in shame

" Wait a minute, you haven't awakened your ability? Yet you're over here with a spiritual awakening? How does that even make sense? "

Tekken questioned, as Shu simply looked up and then over at him

" Well when I was training with my grandpa— "

" Your grandpa? "

Tekken interrupted only to get a small annoyed look from Shu

" I-I guess you mean the martial god, Yorujo "

Tekken whispered, sounding a bit nervous, most likely because of the look Shu gave him

" Anyway, my grandpa had planned out a schedule for me, he was going to train me for 13 years in martial arts, and then my ability for 20 years, but the problem was I kept denying his help to awaken my ability, I don't know why but my excuse was always the fact that I love martial arts; thing is, he died so he couldn't help me awaken it, and all my other teachers have taught me only how to advance in terms of my sanctuary levels of control "

Shu explained, only to receive small nods from Tekken whilst he was hearing his nephew's explanation

" Hmm, well, Shu, everyone has a certain Talent, some have talent for martial arts, and talent for energy control, which you certainly seem to have; I mean I'm surprised that at your young age you're so strong, the thing is, I don't think you have enough talent to awaken your ability; let me break down the levels of people that are born in this reality"

Tekken said as he would then pause, being stared at by Shu with a look of urgency, as if wanting to rush the demon to explain it to him

" Hmm, first are talentless people, people who have absolutely no talent for any of the three things I just stated, we can just call them lessers; then we have those who one Talent, either be it to be good at sanctuary control, with the capacity to achieve their spiritual awakenings, or martial arts which helps one greatly in a battle, then there's the talent to awaken an ability—-we can call these people, normal people, and then, we have prodigious "

" Prodigious are people who have two talents, like you, then we have those people capable of being talented at all three, we can also call them prodigious, but then, there are monsters; like my sister, your father, and your grandfather. Monsters are people who are comparable to elite Gods, or even a ruler of heaven and hell, a great example is your grandfather, who at a very young age almost completely obliterated heaven—actually now that I think about it, you're grandfather should be above even monsters, he should be in a league of his own, that fucking bastard should be called the one and only "

Tekken said, only to start murmuring to himself about how strong Yorujo was and so on

" Tekken! "

" Huh—uh, yeah? "

The man replied

" Get to the point "

Shu ordered, only for Tekken to smile and scratch the back of his in embarrassment

" Well, monsters are those who have the ability to max out everything, meaning they can reach the peak of martial arts, sanctuary energy control, and their ability. You Shu, most likely have the potential to reach the maximum level of your sanctuary control and martial arts, but your chances of even awakening an ability, this late, and with the small talent you have for it, is near zero, most likely 1% "

Tekken said, his tone of voice turning serious, letting Shu know the severity of the situation, watching as he grabbed his hair and hid his face on his legs

" People look up to me, now that Fu's gone, I'm the strongest man in this planet—-

" Well now that I'm here, I think I'm the— "

Tekken stopped, as Shu simply continued to talk

" When it gets rough, and I know it will, they will look at me for help, and I'll be completely hopeless to do so, my next enemy can not be defeated with what I've learned, and my only way to defeat him is to awaken something I have the lowest chances of doing… "

The atmosphere was quiet, Tekken didn't want to say a word, and neither did Shu.

As the two sat there, a small tear fell from Shu's eyes and crashed against the ground, and as soon as it did, came the rain, crashing heavily against the rooftop they were sitting on

" Thank god for the rain.. "

Tekken whispered, seeing the tears that fell from Shu's eyes getting swallowed up by the rain, as he would then place his left hand on Shu's back, trying to comfort him

" Uh—-well, we can get straight to the other problem, I know you don't want to talk but, I know you wanted to ask me another question before this became so—uh, emotional "

Tekken knew what type of person Shu was, after all, his long life has allowed him to meet many people, and Shu was one of those who didn't want to disappoint those who he loved, he was the type who enjoyed to be depended on, not to mention that his nephew was also a king, and protecting his people was his responsibility.

It is a weird state of mind but Tekken knew he couldn't do anything about it but change the topic

" Well, my next question is about my demon self "

Shu said, in a low tone of voice as he would then raise his head slowly, only for the rain to water his face entirely, replacing the tears he had shed with the water drops that fell from the sky.
