" Sir "
An old man said as he walked up to Shu who seemed to be sitting at his throne, with his wife to sat on another and both Dio and Asami on his lap, talking to them about their training
" Uh, sir "
The old man repeated, causing Shu to turn and look over at the old man, giving him a small head tilt as if asking him what he wanted
" The academic tournament is about to have its last game, the staff was wondering if you were willing to go see the matches "
The old man explained as Shu simply blinked, completely since he had completed forgotten about the existence of the academy tournament.
This put a smile on his face as he remembered all the memories he gained whilst participating in that tournament so long ago
" Oh, are the mini games over? "
Shu questioned, which intrigued his children who began to listen in, unlike many nobles, Shu didn't have his kids go to the academy, rather he home schooled them, he had teachers teach them how to write and so on, whilst the fighting part was taught by him and his best friend Ean, plus one of them was going to rule, so they were taught politics by the old man that was standing in front of Shu at the moment
" What's this tournament you're talking about David? "
Asami questioned, interrupting Shu's conversation, which made the old man turn and look over at the innocent girl with a smile on his face
" Im the academy of Elsia there's a tournament that's held every year, to determine who's the best fighter in the, in every possible category "
The old man known as David said, which made the girl widen her eyes, and then turn to her twin brother with excitement
" Categories? "
Shu questioned, staring at the man in confusion
" Last I remembered, they just added mini games and had us compete, and have the winner of each category participate in the tournament, to see which category of fighter was best suited for full on one on one battles, or at least that's how it was explained to me when I participated "
Shu said, which made the old man nod only to rub his hands together whilst thinking of a way to reply
" Well uh, sir, it isn't like that anymore, we still have the mini games, but it works differently now, there are judges who watch every mini game, after every game is over they give points to the participators, after the tournament is over, who ever accumulated more points across all mini games becomes the overall best student and fighter; though.. "
David paused, seeing that his king became even more intrigued, only to continue seconds later once he regained his breath
" Very similarly to the old tournament rules, the players who received the most points for each category gets to participate in the one on one tournament "
David said, explaining as best he could, making his king think; Shu laid back against his throne, rubbing his chin a little as he tried to picture how the new tournament would play out
" Are the mini games still the same? "
Shu questioned as the old man shook his head slowly
" More or less, the race is still one of the mini games and so is the hunting one, but the others have been removed. A mini game which involves chest has been added as well as an exam and many others, we use this method to determine smart and strong students apart "
David explained, to which Shu nodded, standing up from his throne, whilst placing his children aside, and then looking over at his first wife
" We're going to watch the tournament, gather the others, we're making a royal appearance, meanwhile im going to see and check if Ean wants to bring his family "
" Going to check on who, I'm right here "
Ean said, only for Shu to turn to his side, staring at Ean who was wrapped in a golden armor, which surprised Shu, after all it's been a while since Shu's seen Ean with an armor on
" What are you doing here? "
Shu questioned, staring at the man with a look of interrogation, which made Ean sigh, whilst reaching into his armor, taking out a paper which seemed to have a form filled
" I'm acting as a royal guard for the royal family, request made by your second wife, Emma Everline "
Shu stared at the paper for a second, and then up at Ean with a look of surprise
" Why? "
Shu replied, making Ean chuckle whilst putting away the paper
" She said something about that if she gets pregnant she wants to have not only your protection but the protection of the strongest human knight "
Ean explained, which made Shu nod a bit before, spreading his arms apart and then placing his hands behind his head
" Well alright, let's just invite your family over to watch the tournament, my family is coming as well, I wanna see the future of this country, first hand "
Shu replied, only to yawn as he would then look over at the thrones which were no longer occupied, his children and wife had went over to the loving room to search for the other wives as well as Shu's other child, Raven.
" Yeah im down, I bet it'll be more interesting than being a royal guard "
Ean replied, dropping his armor on the floor as he and Shu would then exit the room, leaving the old man David to carry the heavy armor to save place.
" Do you think there'll be promising kids in this tournament? "
Shu questioned as he walked down the hallways of his castle, to which Ean replied by tilting his head left to right
" Im not sure, if I'm not mistaken, every citizen around the kingdom says that our tournament was the most promising, ever since we left the academy there's been no tournament that has competed with ours, in terms of hype and entertainment at least "
Ean explained, to which Shu nodded, trying to picture how this tournament would play about, and comparing it to the tournament in which he participated in
" Oh well, I guess we'll see "
" Yeah "
