" Ana, it's been a month right? "
Elena questioned as both women stood a top of a mountain covered in snow. The two had on black winter jackets with battling boots, and underneath nothing but black sweat pants and a long sleeve blouse
" Yes Ma'am "
Ana replied as she looked down at a pack of polar bears, who's veins could be seen, but unlike any normal animal it's veins were hard, reason for it or course was that they were made of ice.
Their claws were also of the same elemental material, with their eyes filled with pure need to kill
" For some reason we can't escape this continent, and although I've traveled the entirety of the world with my master, I've never encountered this place not even once. Which leads to believe two things "
Elena added as she let out a loud sigh, her breath becoming steam due to the temperature of the environment
" This place has recently just been born or... "
Ana replied, adding to Elena's sentence, not finishing it only because she wasn't sure of her next reason
" This place was created by Romulus to keep us here "
Elena finished before turning to look at Ana who kept her eyes and attention on the animals
" List out to me the differences between this place and the kingdom we came from, and I don't just mean appearance wise, but rather its being itself "
Elena explained as she proceeded to shove her hands inside of her jacket, allowing Ana to think for a few seconds
" To start off, everyday it's a new weather, yesterday it was as hot as the earth's temperature could every reach, and today it's as cold as the north and South Pole. I also noticed that gravity here is around 1.7 times stronger than it normally was "
Ana replied, answering Elena's question, or at least partially answering it
" That's it? "
Elena questioned, raising her eyebrows a bit as Ana simply blinked unsure of what to do
" Didn't you notice how this place is structured, it's completely round. There's no wind, no clouds, no sun, or at least no visible one, and the most obvious, the monsters. Haven't you noticed yet? We kill all the monsters everyday, but yet, the moment we wake up, there are more "
Elena explained, making Ana open her eyes wide, proceeding to look back at the older woman, opening her own mouth to add to what she just said, but was unfortunately interrupted
" At first I thought, maybe they leave eggs around, and the eggs just hatch over night? But that's just naive thinking, I've met these animals before, even though they have an amazing ability to adapt to their environment, they don't grow as fast as these do, and although these animals are mammals they are able to reproduce like birds do, but the eggs they lay take an entire year to hatch, so that only leaves us with one answer "
Elena explained, staying quiet to leave Ana to think for a bit, everything the woman just said flew all across her mind. She tried to come up with a theory herself, but it lead her to one thing
" You don't mean to tell that.. "
Ana whispered, sweating nervously as Elena simply stared at the girl before closing her eyes
" Yes, time accelerates while nighttime is around, and no, before you say anything, I have no proof, i tried staying up as late as I could last night, but, no matter for how long i stayed up, morning never came... "
Elena replied, pausing for a few seconds before staring up at the sky
" I stayed up for 15 hours, and nothing changed, I even went around and started investigating, I found a few eggs, but they were far from hatching, I broke a few and all I got was smelly and sticky-goo. So that lead me back to our theory; time acceleration "
Elena added, as Ana simply placed her index finger and thumb on her chin, thinking
" But that doesn't make any sense, although that answers how the monsters are able to reproduce so quickly, it only leads us to another question, why aren't we aging? If every night these bears are born, and I'm assuming it takes time for these animals to grow as well, then every single night at least 10 year passes, so how come we aren't getting older? "
Ana questioned, making Elena who was staring at the animals chuckle
" Because we're in a pocket dimension, according to what my master has told me, those who create their own realities are able to apply to it, it's laws, such as how the gravity works, how space works, etc. "
Elena replied as she pulled her hands out of her jacket's pockets, smiling whilst staring at the bears
" So Romulus can create dimensions? "
Ana asked, her mouth wide open whilst complete fear governed over her expression
" No, of course not, I've lived with the guy for multiple decades, and in that amount of time he didn't show any signs of having the ability to create dimensions, which means, unless he gained a new power, one of his subordinates has done this "
Elena finished before taking in a deep breath, as she placed her hands on her hips, letting out a loud sigh a few seconds later before grinning
" Well, we'll figure it out later, for now let's prepare breakfast "
Elena yelled, placing her hands inside of her pockets, to then jump off of the mountain, her hair and clothes flowing upwards and aggressively
" Yes, ma'am "
Ana whispered, whilst removing her jacket, allowing it to fall on the ground of the mountain. She would then squat down, stretching her arms to each side, applying sanctuary energy to her legs before jumping high in the air, allowing her body to fall just like Elena's who had just landed on top of one of the bear's, busting the animal's head open
" Hmm, seems like she's already started. She's been acting oddly childish ever since we were trapped in this place "
Ana said to herself, looking down at the ground, feeling herself approach it, before she loudly crashed against it, cracking the ground a bit, causing a strong shockwave which made the animals turn their attention to her.
