Shu was weaving, dodging Arthur's punches with swiftness and retaliating with his own sets of punches, punching Arthur on his ribs with quick jabs, and on his stomach as well as his chin with strong strikes.
Arthur would of course avoid the majority, using footwork and blocking the ones he couldn't dodge with ice, but to the normal human eye, all that could be seen was a blur of their arms and a still image of their torsos
" What kind of battle is this? "
An spectator questioned, sweat falling from her face as she watched the match
" It feels like two gods fighting one another "
Another spectator added, seemingly afraid of the image those kids were setting
" Not to mention, they're just teenagers "
A lady added, watching in awe as the kids fought, not only were the clashes of their after images causing explosions and shockwaves everywhere around the field, but they were also having a one on one exchange of punches in the middle of it all, anyone with common sense would consider this type of fight insanity
" Third Form: a sinner's hell "
Shu whispered, pulling his arms back, stopping his exchange of attacks, as he then focused on dodging Arthur's strikes.
His arms began to glow a bright blue, it wasn't an aura this time, it was almost as if his arms themselves began to glow, as the ground below them began to melt, it seemed like those new arms of his has increased in temperature. With a quick breath, Shu would duck down dodging one of Arthur's punches hitting him right after with one of his own, right in the gut, proceeding to follow it up with an intense barrage.
The barrage would go on for almost a minute, so long that the after images would disappear, worrying even the spectators who began to find the fight scary instead of exciting. With one last punch to the face Shu would pull his arm back, but as soon as he did Arthur was already sliding through the ground, blood, and bruises covering his entire upper body
" How's that!? "
Shu yelled, chuckling as he began to pant, looking over at Arthur with an arrogant expression
" Was that too much for you Arthur? "
Shu questioned, continuing to pant as Arthur began to regain his composure, though not entirely
" Shut up you fucking midget "
Arthur whispered as he began to form a spear of ice around his right hand as swords of ice levitated above him.
The swords would soon chase after Shu, who would, with difficulty, begin to avoid them, though he was tired, the swords would slightly cut him as he attempted to dodge, but seeing as Shu was busy, Arthur took this as an opportunity to charge, dashing forward, hurling his fist covered in ice toward Shu's stomach, piercing his side, right below his ribs, stabbing through his muscles, making the boy cough up blood
" You...bastard "
Shu whispered as he looked up at Arthur who simply stared into his eyes with a smirk
" Is this too much for you Shu? "
Arthur questioned, chuckling a bit before jumping backward, taking in a deep breath as Blue energy began to gather around him
" I don't think I'll be able to finish you off in my normal state "
Arthur said as the energy began to twist around him like rubber, moving savagely everywhere, making it seem like a mess of water, after a few seconds the energy would burst into particles, revealing a better-looking Arthur, or rather, a suited looking Arthur.
Arthur's face and hair were the only things that could be seen, as everything else was covered in a pure hardened white ice-like suit of armor, with what seemed to be blue fire on its joins. Arthur's skin color was no longer pale, it was blue, as well as his hair, but his hair resembled that of the fire around him
" Spiritual Awakening: South Pole "
Arthur said as if announcing the name of the form he had taken, which surprised Shu, who stared at him with his eyes wide open
" Heh, what was the other version? I think it was the North Pole, you had wings back then, and you looked stupidly ugly, but now, you look insanely badass, how about I show you my spiritual awakening, you haven't seen it after all "
Shu announced as he pulled out the spear of ice that Arthur had left on his stomach, panting as he covered it with his right hand
" Spiritual Awakening "
Shu whispered, as his aura suddenly bursted out of his body, reaching up into the sky, resembling what a burning tower would look like if it was in flames, that fire would then begin to dash around the in the air, clashing against itself, moving around like slime, till it eventually took the form of something, a dragon, a gigantic blue eastern scary looking dragon's upper body, and what would normally be its torso and legs seemed to be stuck inside of Shu's shadow.
That dragon would soon fall down from the sky, using its wings to fly toward Shu at insane speeds, opening its mouth as if it was going to swallow him whole, but then it stopped, right when it was about to reach him, and instead of eating him, it would surround his body with its gigantic hands, squeezing him tight, as the dragon soon bursted in a million particles, leaving Shu and his new state, wide open.
Shu's hair was now levitating, it was no longer white, it was black, his skin turned completely pale and his blue eyes began to glow. Just like Arthur he had awakened
" I guess, this is all we can do "
Arthur said, looking down at the ground with a small smile
" Yeah—Hey what's up with the fire? Aren't you supposed to be all icy and stuff? "
Shu questioned, making Arthur chuckle as he looked back at him
" In my awakening state I am able to reverse the effects of my abilities, which is to freeze what's around me, so instead of everything turning into ice, it turns into fire "
Arthur explained, making Shu nod in return, almost as if saying, I understand
" That's pretty cool "
Shu replied, ending the conversation between the two, leaving them with nothing else to talk about, standing there calmly, but just like the weather, that tone suddenly changed, and now, at the speed beyond that of sound, they were both dashing toward each other, in their own eyes, it took them about 30 seconds to reach each other, but in the spectators' eyes, It was instantaneous.
The two of them would exchange their strongest blow yet, a blow that held all of their energy and strength. Arthur coated his right hand with the hottest fire he could produce, and Shu engulfed his right leg with all the energy he could use, hitting each other in the face with those overpowered strikes, nearly knocking each other out, creating a shockwave which destroyed the entirety of the field, of course, Eran was moved away by the announcer so that he wouldn't get caught in the exchange.
The barrier which protected the audience cracked, and the field no longer existed, it was just a ginormous crater of destruction, and in the middle of it all, was Shu, badly injured with an unconscious Arthur by his feet.
" And the winner of this year's tournament! Shu Hellgard!!!!!! "
