While Albert had a good start to his journey, Alisa didn't even have a wink last night.
She returned to the city on her horse with a long face. When she arrived, she wasn't greeted by Aran, who was supposed to be working at this time.
"Welcome back, Ma'am." The two guards greeted her politely.
"Where is Aran? Isn't he supposed to be…" She stopped her words and fell silent.
The guards exchanged looks before one of them opened his mouth, explaining the situation. "Last night, we were attacked by goblins. There were close to a thousand goblins at that time, so Sir Aran gathered the adventurers to rout them.
"There was even a Goblin Shaman and a Goblin General in the mix. Luckily, Albert managed to take down the Goblin Shaman, allowing Sir Aran to kill the Goblin General.
"Not long after that, they managed to eradicate the goblins and save this town without many casualties. The town didn't receive any damage either.
"They then celebrated the victory in the plaza last night and turned it into a farewell party for Albert… According to the information, he left this place an hour ago. We don't know the details though.
"Well, the party was a blast and the townsfolk were still cleaning up the plaza. Sir Aran was overseeing the entire thing inside, so if you want to meet him, he's there." The guard explained before pointing at the plaza inside the town.
"What? So many things happened when I was gone?" Alisa raised her voice, never expecting to hear something this big. "I'm going to Aran now."
Without hesitation, she rushed to the plaza and saw it bustling with people. She located Aran pretty quickly due to his giant body and shouted, "Aran!"
Aran heard her and turned around. "Alisa? Where were you last night?" he asked. "Oh, yes that's right! Albert returned to this place alone and warned us about the goblin army. If it were not for him, we would suffer so many casualties and the town wouldn't be able to recover within a month.
"Still, why did you let him return to this town alone? He must have crossed the grassland for hours with the chance of being attacked by creatures.
"Are you insane? I let you go with Albert because I thought you were supposed to take care of him."
Alisa gritted her teeth, having no words to explain herself. She closed her eyes and recalled what happened last night.
After being hit by Albert's Bonk Bat, she hurriedly returned to her room and put her clothes on before chasing him.
But as soon as she came out, there were two soldiers standing in front of the door as if they were planning to visit her.
"Soldiers?!" Alisa widened her eyes and came to a halt.
"Ha!" The two soldiers straightened their backs and reported. "We've been tasked by Sir Galahan to bring you to him. There's important stuff he needs to convey to you."
"Hmm?" Alisa frowned and looked at the gate. She wanted to chase Albert, but this seemed to be important, considering Galahan, this town's captain, who oversaw the entire military soldiers in this town, invited her to meet him.
She gritted her teeth, considering whether she should go with the soldiers or chase after Albert.
In the end, she said, "I need someone to chase after a person. He's important to me. He should be leaving the town right now."
"Yes. We will convey it to the other soldiers." The two nodded.
She picked one of them and said, "You lead the way. You ask someone!"
The two soldiers split as Alisa walked toward the military barrack to meet this Galahan.
Little did she know, there was never a soldier dispatched to chase after Albert as she underestimated the graveness of the matter they were talking about.
Alisa, unaware of everything, walked inside a room. There was a middle-aged man sitting behind a desk while working with a few papers.
"Alisa, huh?"
"Yes, Sir."
"Okay, leave us alone." The middle-aged man waved his hand, asking the soldier that guided Alisa to leave. He then put down his work and looked at Alisa with his sharp brown eyes. "We need to move quickly, so I won't beat around the bush."
"That will be great." Alisa nodded with a serious expression. She knew Galahan when she served as a soldier here, so she knew his strength. For a man as strong as him to be this serious, the matter must be grave, she thought.
"We have detected a movement from the neighboring Demon Kingdom." Galahan pinched the bridge of his face, showing the trouble he had faced with his small gesture.
"What?" Alisa widened her eyes. "Which Demon Kingdom?"
"There is only one…" Galahan sighed. "As you know that we're at the border between two kingdoms. On the human side, we have the Risourin Kingdom. From the demon side, we have the Lust Kingdom, directly ruled by one of the seven Demon Kings, Demon King of Lust, Succubus Queen Lilith.
"Normally, we won't face any problem since those around us are mostly neutral. But I have heard that the Succubus Queen has moved her troops around the border and has set up a meeting in the town called Borsoli.
"The Kingdom has asked us to verify this and we're planning to ask for reinforcement from them. Since Lustville Town is under your jurisdiction, I want you to go there and bring all humans over, preventing unnecessary casualties if the war indeed starts.
"If not, we can go on with our lives normally. So, I order you to bring all humans from Lustville Town and return here immediately." Galahan explained the situation.
"But Sir… You are aware and know the truth about Lustville Town, right?"
"It's better safe than sorry. I can't afford to mess this up." Galahan shook his head while letting out a long sigh. "You have seven days to do it, so you do what you need to do."
"…" Alisa bit her lips and looked down, thinking about everything related to Lustville Town, including Albert.
