In a certain outpost, a meeting was being held between the Commanders to go over their plans concerning the extraction of power from the captured empress.
The 10 Commanders observed her status and saw how long it had taken to finally be nearing the end of this particular process but this had also put into perspective how much power was contained within her veins.
This observation had been just a part of their conference as their main focus was their planning for the future. Due to the nature of their holographic conferences, they were all in a separate outpost tuning in to one another and spoke at their own domains to the other 9 and the one who currently was overseeing the captured empress was a purple haired woman whose name was Nyoko the Caretaker. She wore red and black robes that hugged her body loosely, allowing her to move as she saw fit and her powers and her associated mindset left her as the best person to oversee and tend to a person's needs which was why she was the person meant to look after the empress of the east.
'' It won't be long now until you are just a corpse. You dare threaten us with your brother a month ago but he hasn't come. I doubt we'll ever need worry about such a kid. He got lucky beating one of our soldiers but we aren't exactly in the same boat as our weakest members. If he dares appear before us, his death is guaranteed. ''
Kami remained silent after hearing Nyoko talk. Her words were filled with animosity and wanted a provoked response but the white haired woman offered none. All she had to give was silence.
'' How embarrassing it must be to talk such a big game all for it to amount to nothing. Not that we were scared, a child is a child at the end of the day. You can't expect much out of them as they are and you'll be dead before your eyes ever gaze upon him. ''
The Empress still offered no response which infuriated Nyoko, she was eagerly looking for a response so she could ventilate her pent-up anger but since there was no window to continue, she had walked away from Kami who was tied up with two giant crystals on the side of her that were extracting her essence.
'' So, how long until the Black Bloom? ''
Nyoko asked the other Commanders about their grand plan but there was no immediate response. There was no way they had an immediate answer on a plan that was years in the making and she asked about it so casually.
The other 9 looked amongst one another before a response was given to Nyoko although she didn't like how the response was given due to some interpersonal dynamics within the group.
'' We don't have the appropriate answer to give you at this point in time but we hope you'll be patient enough to wait for the time where we no longer have to make vague guesses at the completion of the plan. ''
Nyoko didn't enjoy the other 9 explaining the process to her as if she was a child. She had known that she was the newest member of the 10 after the previous commander's unknown circumstances made it so that it was a vacant position which she had taken up and she was not yet in the real ''inner circle''.
'' I'll earn my keep and you'll regret keeping me outside of the loop. ''
Nyoko prepared to leave, ending the communication prematurely as she decided to leave the chamber but before she could leave a certain person finally spoke to her.
'' Must suck to feel like you don't know what's going on. Let's face it, even though you have me locked up here it hasn't earn you any points. You are just a servant handling a task for them. I wouldn't be surprised if you are disposed of and why would you think any different? You are just someone who joined their ranks recently, I can tell by the way you speak compared to them. You are new to this, you are just trying to prove yourself but who knows how long it'll take for you to be truly accepted by them. You wondered why I spoke highly about my brother earlier, it's because I have faith in him. Faith that he'll come. Do your colleagues have faith in you? ''
The white haired empress spoke in a tone that was clearly meant to agitate the Commander and with words as sharp as swords, it pierced her heart but the female wasn't done.
'' I've noticed you keep leaving to go hunt kids as if to fill a void within you but I am curious what drives you to do so? Who left you so alone that you need to constantly go out of your way to remind yourself that you have no one? ''
The Commander lowered her head, her fists clenched up so tight that she bled out of her hands. She couldn't speak, she didn't have any words. She had more children to hunt tonight, little did she know that tonight would be an eventful one.
