As Tengo's metamorphosis was occurring, his very mind drifted to a time before his years as a blacksmith as a result of the ensuing transformation.
A time when he was someone else entirely.
Tengo's memory forcibly went back five hundred years, to a valley filled with a dark fog in a region far less welcoming than the eastern territory of japan. Within this valley laid a group of imprisoned youkai following the will of someone oppressive.
In this particular valley many youkai fought to survive each and every day, hoping to overcome the conditions they were forced to be in and it went without saying that you shouldn't get comfortable with anyone as they may be dead in the following day if not the coming weeks.
One of these particular youkai was a young man with short orange hair and hardened skin, draped in rags and a broken katana.
