A nineteen-year-old boy walked onto the bus, and all the young men on the bus began to whisper and point at him. "He is the boy that got the highest score in the CBT exams."
The young boy's eyes were dead serious, he sat at the back with an expressionless face, unaware of another young man admiring him. The young man stood up and sat beside the young boy.
Hi, I am Evan." The young boy looked at him, and Evan blinked his dark amber eyes. The boy ignored him and he put his hands on his lap. "Congratulations on coming first place in the exams." The boy stared at him. "Thank you." The young boy's large brown eyes looked lifeless.
"You're welcome, let's be friends, we don't know what kind of test they will give us so we better stick together." The boy went quiet for a while, his forehead squeezed and he placed his hand on his chin
"Ok." The boy agreed. Evan smiled.
"Great, then let's reintroduce ourselves again. My name is Evan sigh, what's yours." His beautiful pink lips spread into a smile. "My name is Samuel Bassett." The two became friends. Luckily for them, they were roommates. When all the guys went to shower, Samuel refused to join.
Evan didn't force him, he went and showered. In the middle of the night, he heard the door closing, Samuel draped a towel over his neck. He kept it aside and went to sleep.
They were having their breakfast when the staff of HOJ walked in. They all stood up to pay their respect.
"Good morning aspirants! I am Alvin and the next guy next to me is Roger. Today we are here to announce your mission, this mansion is said to be fifty years old and was owned by a count who was a vampire. The entire family killed each other for a relic. This relic was owned by the first king of Ehteran. It was bestowed to him by a powerful sorceress by the name of Pretoria. This relic is said to make his holder reincarnate seven times."
"Woah!"
"Is that for real?" They kept whispering.
"Be quiet and listen!" A bald man with a mustache shouted AKA Alvin. The narrator continued the story.
"The relic after years landed in the hands of Count Theophilus. But the people around him became greedy, they also wanted to be able to live for seven lives. So a fight broke out and they all killed each other. The Count hid the relic in this house. You're to look for it. You have three days." The room was filled with their noise.
A young man raised his hand. "Yes." The man waited for his question. "What does the relic look like?"
"it is a golden egg with ancient scripture on it."
"Why didn't they look for it themselves?" A young man complained.
"If I find it, I will keep it to myself."
"If you do that, you won't have a job."
"You can work in groups or alone, it is up to you! There are only two rules to this mission. One: is to not kill each other! Two: Do not think of stealing the relic, trust me, you won't want to be that person." the workers left them.
"Let's find a team," Evan said. Ella followed him behind, all the teams they met refused to take in El. They didn't like her attitude. Finally, a team of three scrawny boys agreed to work with them.
They went behind the large mansion to talk.
"First order of business is to introduce ourselves, I am Evan Singh."
"I am Bernard Junior." The boy's skin was a little dark.
"My name is Hakim King" The skinny handsome young man introduced himself.
"My name is Shota Shiro." The young Japanese boy bowed his head in respect.
"I am Samuel Bassett."
"Now that we're done with that the next thing is to come up with a plan." The rest agreed with Evan.
"So, what do we do?" Hakim asked.
"The man that explained the rule said that there were two rules." Ella raised two fingers.
"one: we are not to kill each other. Two: we should not try to steal the relic."
The others frowned. "We all know the rules, Sam." Said Evan.
"That's not the point, my point is that they can beat us up as long as it is not life-threatening, and if we do find the relic they can take it from us."
The others made an OOO sound.
They heard people breaking stuff and the screams of people.
"I wonder what's happening out there," Shota asked.
"Look what we have here." The five of them stood up. They were surrounded by Eleven huge men.
"What do you want?" Evan asked.
"The little boy behind you is smart. We want you five to find the relic and bring it to us."
Evan scoffed.
"It is like they now let any dumb and useless persons enroll into the organization."
The leader among them laughed.
"Boys break their legs!"
Ten of them ran towards them, some bearing fangs, some turning into wolves and some of them were witches.
A bolt of lighting fell in between them and the force pushed them away. Some of them hit the wall, while some slid on the ground. Shiro's attire changed into armor and a katana. He superspeed and slit the kneecap of one of them.
"Sam, let's go." Hakim pulled her away, and Bernard followed.
The boss smiled as he converted into his demon form. He had bat-like wings and horns like that of a bull
Shota and Evan attacked him together. The sound of lighting can be heard from far away.
One day passed, they were now on the second day and had no idea where Shota and Evan were.
The three hid as they searched for the relic, the people who attacked were not the only ones who wanted to use Ella.
"Listen, they're all wasting their time, I believe that this may be a puzzle.
"What?" Bernard looked confused.
"This mansion has a lot of paintings," Ella said.
"They have checked all the paintings, but there's nothing there," Hakim informed her.
"I didn't say it was behind a painting. Come with me." They followed her.
They hid behind the chair in his living room. "Look, the walls are covered with paintings. But if you look from the angle of where the chair is facing. You can see that he's looking at the painting on the left. "What then?" Hakim asked.
"What do you see?"
"a woman holding a baby while sitting on a chair, so?" Bernard asked.
"You're focusing on the wrong thing, that is a nursery room, we have to get there and check under that cradle chair."
"there's no harm in trying," Hakim said
The three decided to go try their luck.
"Let's check plain sight."
"What if it is a puzzle?"
They slowly snuck away so that the other group wouldn't see them, la Lady Lucknned them and they met Evan and Shota.
"We are happy to see you two?" Hakim was so excited.
"It was not easy fighting that guy," Shota said, their bodies covered in bruises. The five secretly moved about while Bernard filled the two in.
"When they got to the nursery room, Bernard and Hakim pulled out the cradle chair that was attached to the wooden floor and there was the golden egg. They silently celebrated.
"Who is going to hide the egg with them?" Bernard asked.
"I think Sam should hold it," Evan suggested.
"no, it is a bad idea, I am a human."
"Can I see the egg?" Hakim opens his palm. Ella placed the egg in it and another was created in his other palm. The others gasped. "This is the original." Hakim gave it to her. He also made four more replicas and gave them to each of them.
"Can you do one more?" Ella asked and he made one more and hid it under the cradle like Ella asked.
The five stood in the hallway, when they heard footsteps they began to whisper.
"Let's look for it, in the nursery room, I believe it is under the cradle." Five different groups with sharp hearing heard her and they all rushed to the room.
That night the five slept peacefully.
The next day a scream woke them up, and the entire place was in chaos.
"The rogues are here!"
"Oh shit." Evan panicked. Ella was so scared she went ahead and hid in the cupboard the other four went to fight the rogues.
Ella could still hear the screaming, banging, and shattering of things, Ella was shivering and crying in fear.
Then she remembered her purpose, she was going to be an agent, she was going to fight rogues all the time, and she made up her mind to go fight too. When she was about to stand up, she touched something cold. It was a gun and she held it tightly.
Then she heard the footsteps of a person, the person was coming closer to where she was. Ella didn't hesitate, she jumped out and pulled the trigger, the bullet hit him on the left side of his stomach and he fell to the ground.
