The workers were busy arranging the dining room, and the red cloth on the large table has been replaced by a beautiful blue tablecloth.
The Flowers in the vase have been replaced by Lapis blue and white orchids.
The curtains were replaced with a white inner voile curtain and an original lapis blue silk velvet curtain.
The Chairs top rails down to lower rails are in the form of a heart shape with a soft blue puffy seat.
When the workers were done with the arrangement they stood aside for the Head maid to inspect the work.
The Head maid walked in with a stick and a frown on her face. She inspected the arrangement while the workers all looked nervous and their palms became sweaty.
Pak!! The sound of her stick made all of them flinch.
"This vase is a little bit away from the line. Why is that?" Her voice was scary and she had a thick accent. Her golden Chestnut hair was tied in a bun.
"Which group did I assign to arrange the flowers and vases?" She asked and the others stepped back leaving Four unfortunate souls, shivering in fear.
With every step she took, their hearts pounded faster, and her cold hazel eyes narrowed.
"How did you fail to arrange them in a straight line? And the flowers in vase number seven, have a petal with a withered tip. I recall today morning I told you that everything must be perfect and here you are failing me, I will have to teach you some manners."
Ella was lying on the bed, looking bored and exhausted. Trent told her that he can not join her for lunch, and he also said that he assigned a chef for her.
She puffed and started to count the ceiling out of boredom.
"I wonder what Rose is doing, she must be worried about me." She sighed as she kept staring at the ceiling. And Cyrus. She thought to herself.
Classical music was being played in the background while all the guests were chattering in the drawing room. Isolde was in a gorgeous red mermaid gown, with a simple diamond necklace around her neck, and her hair was styled in a retro hair bun that fitted her heart-shaped face. She strode into the hall alongside Augustus who was wearing a royal blue suit with a white hanky in his pocket.
The guests stopped chattering and the men bowed to them and the women curtseyed. Augustus bowed, this didn't sit well with Isolde but she hid it with a smile and also curtseyed.
"His majesty shouldn't bow to anyone." Elder qing said to the king, he walked over with his hands behind his back.
"If Elder Qing saw the direction of where I bowed, you will know that I only bowed to you as you're an Elder to me.
They both hugged each other and laughed.
Isolde on the other hand had a lot of mothers hovering over her like a fly, and she knew the reason why.
"Queen Isolde." Isolde cursed in her mind.
She turned to look at the woman who was none other than Cyrus Potter's mother.
Her brown curly hair was tied on one side with a beautiful green flower ribbon that complicated the dark green satin fitted gown.
"Long time no see Cyra Potter." Isolde smiled and the woman smiled back.
Her large green eyes searched around the drawing room and then back at the Queen.
"I don't see Ariadna anywhere." Cyra flashed her a fake smile.
"I also cannot find Cyrus Potter in the crowd." She faked her smile too.
"He will be here tomorrow, the boy is dedicated to his work."
Isolde almost scoffed, she knew that the woman loves to brag. She is only agreeing to this marriage because Cyra is the daughter of the royal family of Greth. A very powerful family.
"Ariadna would also be here tomorrow, the girl loves to help the orphanages and the poor." What Isolde said is true but that wasn't what Ariadna is doing at the moment. Ariadna has gone wolf hunting.
Cyrus opened his eyes and quickly closed them back because of the harshness of the light. He stood up, his body felt calm and new.
"You're finally awake." He raised his head and his eyes went wide. Romulus, Aelfric, and Aurelia were all in the same room as him.
"My Elders." Cyrus stood on his feet and bowed. He felt like all his muscles and bones had been replaced by new ones.
"Seat down, Cyrus," Romulus said, and Cyrus quickly complied.
"Aelfric found out that a curse had been laid on you when you were a baby. That's why you have a hard time controlling your ability." Aurelia informed him.
Cyrus was beyond shocked.
"Why would anyone lay a curse on him?" Cyrus thought to himself.
"Your grandfather Amadeus Potter can manipulate the temperature of the blood."
Aurelia informed.
"The ability to make people explode." said
Cyrus and Aurelia nodded.
"Your grandfather married his best friend Catherine Rice. She was born in a family where only the powerful ones mattered and the weak ones don't. Your grandmother was very sick and didn't have any special abilities. Your grandfather from your grandmother's side was so disappointed in her, he cast her away, your grandfather took pity on her and he became a shoulder for her to cry on.
Her sickness kept getting worse to the intent that she found blood to be irritating. When the people outside heard of this, they mocked the Rice family."
She looked at Cyrus who clenched his hands. She understood how he was feeling, he also went through this.
"Her father was so angry, he barged into Catherine's room and tried to kill her but your grandfather got there in time. Catherine's father told him that he has no right to interfere with their family matters. So your grandfather said that he will marry her, and her life was spared."
"What has this story got to do with me being cursed?"
"We will get there, but you aren't cursed anymore."
"The marriage between them weakened the Dragon flame powers, She gave birth to twins. Your father Donovan Potter and your Uncle David Potter. They have to touch their opponent to control the temperature of their blood. This didn't sit well with your grandfather so he told your father and uncle to marry only powerful women."
"That's the reason my Dad married my mum and Uncle married Aunty Gaia." Cyrus interrupted. Aurelia just smiled at him.
"wake up." Ella who had dozed off, jolted up when she heard the voice of a small child. She yawned and stretched her arms before smiling at Mila.
"I am glad you're back."
"I thought to join you."
"You thought well." She patted his head and the boy gave her a puzzled look.
"You know that am not a dog right?"
"Really, I couldn't tell the difference." she gave him a playful laugh and Mila gave her an expressionless look.
The true reason he was here was that right now his grandfather has allocated some guards to look for him.
"You mean that I am a dog?"
"Of course not, patting someone's head is a sign of affection," Ella informed him.
"Affection," he murmured to himself with a serious expression. He was so cute, that Ella was itching to pinch his cheeks.
They heard a knock on the door.
"You can come in!" Ella felt too lazy to stand up.
The door opened and a young man walked in with a trolley of food.
"Yay! My lunch is finally here."
He pushed the trolley to her side and started to set the tray and food.
"Wait are you not the man who served me breakfast?"
The man's eyes went wide open.
She recognized him. He said to himself.
"May I know your name?"
The man was touched, no one has ever asked for his name throughout the years he worked here.
"My name is Alec Drinkwater. And if my lady needs anything, I will be there to serve her with my absolute best." He hit his chest with his hand.
"Thank you," Ella said. The man ran out.
"Did I say something wrong?"
Mila shook his head.
Alec stooped in the middle of the hallway and started crying.
"I can not believe that Angels still exist. I promise to serve and protect her with my life." His tears continued to rain down.
"Mila, let us eat together," Ella said
Mila disapparated. Ella frowned and decided to enjoy herself some.
She wrapped her meat into the mustard leaf and was about to take a bite when Mila apparated on the bed with his tray of food.
"I thought you wanted us to eat together?" Mila asked.
"You just left without saying a word."
The boy nodded.
"Truth be told when I saw you yesterday, I thought that you were uncle Trent's meal." Ella's brows furrowed.
"Why would you think that?" she asked
"Because the vampires must be feasting on human blood while the werewolves must be enjoying flesh.
Ella's pupils dilated then it dawned on her the reason why she was asked to eat her lunch in the room.
