Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Towards Lannisport

(1,200 words)

- Elia Martell POV -

- Casterly Rock - Westerlands - Westeros - 275 A.D -

"Stop Oberyn!" I shouted at Oberyn as I stepped in his way to block his path. Thus leaving Percival time to escape.

"My God... sister" said Oberyn after calming down a bit, fortunately it wasn't Doran. If it was him, I would lock down the city completely, and not open it until I found the guy, same with my mother.

Oberyn then proceeded to close the door, so as not to alert the guards.

"Elia, tell me, was it with your consent?" he asked me seriously. This was not the fun younger brother. This was one of Dorne's most capable warriors. He was not Oberyn Martell, he was the Red Viper of Dorne. A nickname he earned after poisoning his sword in a duel in front of a lesser Lord of Dorne, who had challenged him for discovering him in his wife's bed.

"It was" I replied firmly and earnestly, to which he nodded and flashed a faint smile.

"You could have invited me" he said, and I rolled my eyes shaking my head. It was no secret that Oberyn used his spear in any hole.

"Shut up, you idiot!"

"Hehehe, well, you can tell me more later. Now, the room needs to be cleaned and ventilated. If mother finds out, you and your lover will be in big trouble" he told me, and we got down to business. This was a brotherly secret.

Because of what happened at the last moment, I had to withdraw with my men quickly from Casterly Rock. I know that Oberyn loves his sister very much, and that he is quite libertine, so as long as i hasn't raped her there shouldn't be a problem. But he can always change his mind and try to hunt me down. Or even not for not following his ideals, but because Elia lied to him and said thah i raped her, for fear or shame. Of her I know nothing more than that she was fragile, and that she had been raped by Ser Gregor.

It is not that I did not trust to finish Oberyn, he could not dodge five poisoned arrows going to his vital points at the same time, but killing him would be too much trouble for the future. For it would mean my seclusion in Essos. It's not that I don't plan to go in the future, but I will increase my power and wealth, not for hide.

But fortunately we had arrived safely at my next target, Lannisport. My bodyguards would go to enjoy their lives in the evenings while doing their work by day. Silver and Copper were going to train with the sword as children with Lisa looking after them, and Qybur was going to open a small laboratory with which to continue advancing his and my research. I would look for a way to, instead of using the philosopher's stone as a cable with access to current, transform it into a battery that would not only serve as magic, but also to increase the vitality of the user. Achieving a pseudo eternal youth. Not immortality, but at least it was something close. Like Melisandre's necklace, only not depending on a capricious deity, but depending on life continuing to exist in the world. What should be forever... If Night King is defeated of course. But there is still a long way to go.

I had also finished one or two other interesting things, and that is that with my knowledge of the modern world, I had managed to replicate hair dyes, as well as a non-harmful liquid capable of changing the color of the eyes. Handmade contact lenses.

The thing is, I was, once again, on my own, as everyone had their homework. And my first objective, was the reason I had visited Westerlands. To meet Maggy The Frog, who in theory got her name from the term "maegi", the name given to blood mages.

I was, as usual, in my cabin waiting for some customer for some love potion or fate reading. Or maybe... Something even more special, related to darker arts.

And just as I expected, a person arrived. His skin was pale, his hair was long but pulled back in a bun, his colors were blond so he could be a Lannister. His eyes were blue and he adorned a kind and gentle smile. Probably either a rich kid or a love-struck pigeon. Customer is a customer.

"H-hello" he said to me in a fearful voice as he looked around constantly. He was probably very nervous about exploring these parts of Lannisport. His clothes were expensive so he was definitely a Lannister, but this further confirmed my suspicions. Although for such expensive clothes, they did look a bit dirty and worn.

"Welcome young man, what are you looking for from this lady?" I asked smiling. Because even though I wasn't a lady as such, I wasn't too old yet. I was just in my forties, and I didn't really look bad. Brown hair with brown eyes and average features. My minus point was my humble clothes and dirty skin, but that's the thing about living in the woods.

"I-I... I want to learn magic! Teach me please!" he said to me as he bowed slightly, which surprised me a bit. A naive young man looking to learn magic? This had never happened to me before. Other men had come before, but their eyes were filled with greed. Instead, this is a good boy, I could tell. Could this perhaps be my chance to leave my life stranded in the forest?

"What did he gain from that?" I asked, feeling me out.

"Ehhhh..." he mumbled, and started going through his pockets where he pulled out a couple of coins. It wasn't little but not much either for a nobleman, but the next moment he showed an enlightened expression, which turned into a sad one. But even with that expression, he pulled out a ring he carried in his pocket.

"Is that it?"

"I... I'm sorry but I don't have any more. When I lost.... When I lost my mother our family declined a lot. This ring is the only thing I have left of hers" the boy said, and a tear threatened to fall down his face, which made my heart warm slightly. So I went to give the boy a good hug as I squeezed his hand with his ring still held.

"No need kid... I'll teach you what I know, on the condition that when you're done learning, I can stay and live with you.

"Really!" he said, and his eyes lit up. "Thank you! I promise!" he exclaimed as he hugged me. My goodness the brats these days....

I seem to be getting soft to take such a brat as a disciple, but I guess, as I said, this is my chance to take on a new life, a little better than before. I thought about going to live with my grandchildren at House Spicer, but decided to stay in the woods, it was a mistake I think. But it also gave me the chance to meet this poor young man. I feel that the future holds good things for me. Even though I may not deserve them, I will accept them with open arms because I have already withdrawn from the world too much.
