Her mental and physical health deteriorated with every passing day causing her to loose so much weight especially because she refused to take her medications. She usually had suicidal thoughts and will try to hang herself. The extreme length of her actions revealed to them that there must probably be more to the rape incident than they had thought.
Thanks to Wu Mei and the doctors she appointed, their methods of reaching out to her through other victims of sexual assault, molestation, rape and some others who once suffered from depression, were able to get her into opening up. Little by little, the shell she hid in for so long was chipped away.
She was now responding to medical treatment and getting better with her words. The rape incident altered her speech ability; forming words and speaking coherently became a challenge until she had to learn from scratch. And daily, she was improving.
