Evan opened their office room and saw that his companions were already waiting.
"I apologize for being late. Let's begin the meeting."
After the meeting, as the council members left the room individually, Gilbert approached Evan while he tidied up his things.
"It's unusual of you to be late, Mr. President."
"Something just came up," Evan said without glancing at him.
"Does it have to do with Ashley?" Marianne said as she walked towards them.
Evan stopped what he was doing and looked at Marianne as she stopped between Gilbert and him.
"I heard someone saw you in the library with her," Marianne said as she grinned.
Gilbert gaped as he looked at Evan, "Is that true? Wow! You are making progress now, Mr. President. After two years of hiding, you are finally on your journey to Ashley's heart."
