Ashley's eyes widened upon hearing Shirley's statement.
"Are you sure about that?"
Shirley nodded, "Yes."
Ashley frowned, "But she wasn't on the list of the nobles who bought the children. How could you say she was one of them?"
Shirley looked at her, "It wasn't because she bought them herself. Heron himself gifted them to Lady Marianne."
"Did Lord Beorot tell you that?"
Shirley nodded, "Yes. That is why he planned to avenge Lady Marianne, so he abducted her."
"And you helped him, am I right?" Upon hearing Ashley's words, Shirley's expression became regretful.
"That's right. I helped him hire those mercenaries so they could kidnap her."
"So you knew where Lady Marianne was all along?"
Shirley shook her head, "I only know his plan and helped him hire those mercenaries, but I don't know about their hideout and the underground prison."
