A talk among the maids spread in the manor and reached Countess Reeva's ears the day after Count Harriston had left.
"One of our maids saw Count Harriston leaving Dorothea's room quickly the day before he left for his trip. It seems like he spent his night with her, Madame."
Countess Reeva was beyond angry and started smashing everything in sight. Then she went to Dorothea's room and had holed herself since that day.
"Open this at once!" She yelled as she pounded on Dorothea's door room. Not hearing a response, she ordered the knight to open the door forcibly. Upon breaking the door, they entered and found a soulless Dorothea sitting at her bed, looking far away.
But that didn't stop the Countess from blaming and slapping her. Reeva immediately walked towards her and started beating her. Dorothea took all the blows silently as tears fell from her eyes while the Countess let out all her anger towards Dorothea.
