Ashley sighed as she looked outside the window of the carriage. Beside her was Evan, who did the same. As the carriage travels to the manor, silence envelope the inside of the vehicle. Neither one of them was willing to break that, though.
When they arrived, Evan left the carriage first as Lola, Mae, and Clark greeted them.
"Welcome back, Your Highness." They all bowed as he passed by them without talking. The
two looked at each other before Clark followed him. Then Lola bowed upon seeing Ashley descend the carriage, assisted by a knight.
"Welcome back, Your Highness." She greeted as she saw Ashley look in Evan's direction
with a downcast look. Lola couldn't help but ask her.
"Are you alright, Your Highness? How was the Ball?"
Ashley tried to smile at Lola to reassure her, "I'm alright, Lola. I'm just tired."
"Oh! Then we'll assist you towards your Highness's chambers." Lola said as she turned to the two maids.
