Lord Bennet's laughter filled the room as he sat beside Ashley on the couch. They are currently in one of the private rooms in the Royal Closet shop with Albert and Annie.
"Wha-Is there something funny?" Ashley asked in confusion.
Lord Bennet wiped the tears from his eyes as he tried to say, "I apologize. It's just…I didn't expect him to say that." Then he laughed again.
Evan was known for being a cold heart Duke throughout his life because of his uncaring attitude. But he was never boastful nor used his name to gain or access something. Evan did everything anonymously and withdrew himself from society. That was why Lord Bennet found it amusing that he said that Ashley.
'This girl… I wonder how she tamed that cold man for him to change.'
Ashley looked behind her and saw Albert's face twitching, wanting to say something while Annie was unusually quiet. Then she mouthed to Albert, 'I'm sorry. Please calm down.'
