"I-I apologize," Ashley said, which made Evan frown.
"Why are you apologizing?"
"I must have made you upset. I'm sorry." Then she bit her lower lip as she stared down.
"You did nothing wrong. Don't apologize."
"Then why do you look upset?"
Evan sighed again and faced her, "I'm not upset. But I will be if you keep on apologizing."
Ashley looked at him again as she pursed her lips. Then Evan reached for her face, and she immediately closed her eyes as she moved back. Then she felt his cold hands touch her face briefly.
She slightly opened her eyes to see what had happened. She saw Evan's hand move away from her as it picked up something.
"There was something on your face, so I removed it." Then he turned and ate once again. Then he said, "You should finish your food."
Ashley was dumbfounded but soon realized what had happened. She bit her lips as she faced her plate again and ate, feeling embarrassed.
