Chapter 46 - A waste of time.

[Unit training speed: 30 hours]

'Good enough.'

Verum looked at the screen in front of him, and gave a smile of satisfaction. 'This is much better.' He then turned around and started walking out of the cave.

"Alright everyone! We're done here! Grab the valuables, and let's go!" Verum declared to all the present people, and they all started moving out.

All of them were tired, so, instead of going back to his own castle, Verum decided to stay at Vesi's castle overnight, which she did not seem to mind, so Verum and his men laid out their tents in the courtyard, and after a hearty dinner, just fell asleep.

Next morning, Day 15.

Verum bid them goodbye, and went back to their own castle. The journey was uneventful, save for one time they came across a swarm of red-billed woodpeckers, which caused them to get a few injuries, but nothing serious.

Once back, Verum gave them half an hour to rest, before setting them into training once more. As for him, he went into the lobby, to the market section.

[Castle Lord Shop]

He had discovered this shop after scrolling through the shop for a while, it was like it was intentionally hidden from view. And this shop, had many, many things, that were useful to the castle lords. For example:

Seeds of various trees,

Weapons and armor,

Medicine,

Training equipment,

Summoning tokens,

Defensive and offensive magic arrays,

etc.

The thing that made this shop different than the others, was it's currency.

[Lord Points]

They were only available once you discovered the shop, and only increased when you did something that increased your power, or something that you or your men benefited from. To give an example, this is how Verum had increased his Lord points.

[Your troops have trained! +5 LP]

[A dungeon has been cleared! +10 LP]

[You have captured a territory! + 200 LP]

[You have captured a Core! +200 LP]

That is a part of his earning history for the last two days, which most of them being for training, some for patrol, and some for dungeons.

The Shop gave everyone 100 LP to start with, and Verum currently had well over eight hundred points now, so he was going to spend some of it.

He looked through his options, for he does not have the intention of spending too many of his points, which he intended to reserve in case of need.

After some consideration, he picked out a few things.

[Bag of soil] x 50

[Random Fruit tree seeds x20] x 2

[Bag of Fertilizer] x 40

[Melee Technique: Rapid pounding]

[Special Technique: Technique disruption]

This little shopping spree cost him 410 LP, with the special technique costing him almost half of that, but Verum felt that it was a well spent investment.

[Special Technique: Technique disruption]

[Having great insight into the inner workings of all kinds of magic and Ki techniques, you are able to destroy or disrupt their workings by simply striking them at the correct point.]

[When used, you will be able to spot the 'weak spot' of skills, which when hit, may do various things, from stopping it, to exploding it]

'Definitely worth it.' Verum did not buy any more things, and instead, just exited the shop, and brought his attention back to the surroundings.

He looked towards the arena, and wondered if he should go in. 'It has been some time, and maybe people have grown stronger. Shouldn't get my hopes up though, sigh, hope they can at least put up a fight this time.' He thought as he walked towards the gate of the coliseum

That day, a lot of people were left angry, a lot of people were left stunned, and a lot of them were left in awe. Mostly in awe, as they watched Verum breeze through a hundred matches without losing more than 5% of his health, in total!

Verum, disappointed, just decided to leave the lobby, and returned to the real world.

'Well that was a big waste of my time, though not entirely... I still managed to get some ideas for new skills and techniques.' He sighed, and was about to get to work when he heard a 'ding!' sound. "Hmm?"

[Where are you? I heard you were in the arena but you are not here! I want to fight!]

"Yama? I forgot about him."

[Just left the lobby, the opponents were too bad, no it was bland]

[Get back here then! Let's fight!]

[Later, I have something to do first]

[Like what?]

Verum did not answer his question, because he had remembered something. 'I have a token for summoning champions, right? I should use it.' Out of nowhere, a shining black circle, with a weird symbol on it appeared in his hand.

[Would you like to use the champion summoning token?]

"Use."

His surroundings faded into black, and he stood in the middle of nowhere.

[Every time a champion summoning token is used, the user will be subject to a trial, and the end result of the trial will effect the grade of the summoned champion]

[Your current trial is: Hide and hunt]

[Hide from the monsters, and hunt for your prize]

[In this trial, you will spawn in an enclosed forest area of four square kilometers, and there will be four creatures that will hunt you down, and one creature that you will have to hunt. Try to not get spotted, because if you are, a scream will attract all your hunters to you, and alarm your prey to your position]

[The quicker you manage to kill your prey, the better the grade]

[Good luck!]
