"Sophie!"
She was startled when someone shouted her name. It was Peggy, looking at her with an amused face.
"You've been daydreaming. What happened?" Peggy asked with a wide grin on her face.
Sophie blushed. She didn't realize that her mind was wandering somewhere. She was thinking about the kiss she had shared with Percy.
"N-Nothing. I was just thinking about those rumors." She stammered.
They were in a nearby cafe waiting for the boys to finish their soccer practice. Sophie and the girls decided to spend their time chatting while waiting for their boyfriends.
"Oh really? So how's your first kiss? Oh wait. Should I say second kiss?" Nina teased.
"Hey! T-That's between me and Percy." She said in a flushed face.
The girls giggled except for Alora who was just listening while drinking her coffee.
"But honestly, I can't believe that you have been with Percy for more than five years and he has only kissed you once." Emily commented.
She wasn't used to this kind of conversation. Sophie knew that Luke and Alora were already living together. Jayden and Peggy were sharing a room in Queen's. Emily was in a long distance relationship but she was sure that they sleep together every time Kyle is visiting her. Nina lived with Andrew since she literally sold herself to her fiance.
Well, she shared a room with Percy but they don't actually sleep in the same bed. Percy would always sleep on the couch. She knew he was being a gentleman, but sometimes she wondered if she was attractive enough for him.
"Are you having second thoughts, Sophie?" Alora asked in a cold tone.
"No. But we're still young. We might be engaged now, but what if something happened in the future?" She asked.
Alora stared at her. She couldn't take Alora's gaze so she averted her eyes.
"Like what if your sister woke up?" Peggy askes in a serious tone.
She suddenly felt her heart beating faster. No one ever asked her about her feelings with the possibility of her twin waking up.
"I-I'm scared. That all of this was just temporary. I'm the one in front of you now, but what if tomorrow I wasn't. Mom seriously told me that I am just a substitute. I don't really care about being the heiress. I would gladly give it to Selene, but I could never give up Percy." Sophie sighed.
Alora suddenly held her hand. She was her best friend and her support aside from Percy and Luke.
"Sophie, you and your sister were two different people. You're our friend. My best friend. No one could replace you. Have you talked about it with Percy?" Alora asked.
She shook her head and couldn't look them in the eye.
"I can't ask him something like that. I don't want to make him choose." She answered.
"What's that about?"
Sophie's eyes widened. When she turned around Percy and the boys were behind them.
The other girls in the cafe were drooling over the boys. They looked like celebrities with their casual clothes on. You could smell the scent of perfumes and shower gels from them as they looked like they just got out from a bath.
Percy sat beside her, looking at her with a serious face. The others went beside their girlfriends.
"So are you going to ask me something or not?" He asked.
Sophie blushed and her heart started beating so fast.
"P-Percy, I don't think this is the right time and place." She whispered.
"So when is the right time? Would you like to talk about it in Queen's? Or would you like me to take you somewhere else?" He continued to ask her.
She looked at the others who were either listening to their conversation or pretending that they were doing something. She couldn't answer him directly and bowed her head.
"Let's go!" He said, then stood up and grabbed her hand, pulling her outside of the cafe.
"P-Percy, where are we going?" She asked.
"Somewhere that we could be alone." He answered.
Percy opened the car's door, gently pushing her inside. Sophie started to panic. She wasn't ready to ask him about what was bothering her for years now.
She looked at Percy who had a dark expression on his face. Did he hear their conversation? Is he mad at her? She bit her lips and sighed.
Percy never gets angry at her. He was always calm and gentle towards Sophie. So she was nervous seeing him like that.
Sophie was surprised when Percy brought him to the Smith's villa. It was the house where she was kept when she was little. She looked at him, confused.
"W-Why are we here?" She stammered.
But Percy didn't answer and just pulled her inside the house. He brought her to a bedroom. It wasn't the room where she slept in, it was different. It was bigger and had complete furniture inside.
She suddenly felt scared when she saw the king size bed and started distancing herself to Percy. He frowned when she walked away from him.
"Now, talk. I heard you and the girls, Sophie, so don't lie to me." He said, staring at her intently.
"I-I was-"
Percy sighed when she couldn't continue.
"Sophie, do you like me?" He suddenly asked.
She was surprised by his question. She didn't expect that he would ask her that. Didn't he know her feelings towards him? She wouldn't stay with him if she didn't like him.
But thinking about it, they have never shared their feelings to each other, not in a romantic way.
"How about you? You have never told me what you really feel about me. When we were young you said you don't know if it was like or love, but you wanted to marry me someday." She said.
"I love you." He whispered.
Sophie was stunned. She didn't know what to say and was just staring at him.
"Sophie, say something."
"P-Percy, I-I"
He rushed towards her grabbing her by the waist. She gasped for air when he was so close to her. His face was just a few inches away from hers.
"Answer me, please." He pleaded.
