Chapter 1 - Introduction

They say that from the moment we are born, our fate has already been decided for us. Just like how we can't choose who our parents are or which societal class we belong to. We are all human. But there are those little things that set us apart from one another. Wealth, intelligence, and class are the most basic of all. In the society that we live in today, the gap between the wealthy and poor is like the sea. Impossible to see the shores of the other side. One can only hope for the best, while fate determines the rest.

But I have to disagree. As long as each different social class exists, anything can happen. The rich may fall below while the poverty-stricken rise. The possibility of it is low, but isn't that the gamble of life. Anything can happen, the good or the bad, and it's all decided by the choices that we make.

I was born a noble, entitled heir to our land. But look at me now, stripped of my title and abandoned by my father. Cast away from the place I once called home and the one person who ever truly loved me. She brought me into this world and had quickly left. She now laid beneath a beautiful patch of white lilies, safe from the dangers of this world. May my beloved mother find the peace that she rightfully deserves. Myself on the other hand, am only just starting the first chapter of my life.
