Kei hurriedly followed the nurse while I was left alone in the room. Aching about my wound while sitting on the floor. Mr. George suddenly went in.
"Lady Amelia! What happened here?" he frantically asked.
"Some nurse wanted to inject something into my dextrose. Luckily, I kicked her chest and fell on the floor and when Kei showed up she suddenly rushed out of the room."
"And where's young master Kei?"
"I made him follow the nurse."
"I see." Mr. George helped me and put me back in my bed. After a couple of minutes late, Kei came back, panting.
"I-I was not a-able to f-follow her, I'm s-sorry, Amelia," Kei said while wiping his sweat simultaneously. "Are you fine?" he added.
Mr. George, as well, asked me about my condition and after a while, father arrived.
"Who dared to attempt and kill my sweetheart, Amelia!" father angrily shouted.
"I'm fine. There's nothing to worry about," I replied.
"What do you mean by fine? Someone's trying to kill you, Amelia!" Kei added.
"It's nothing new. Anyways, when will I get discharged?"
"Seriously, Amelia! That's not the problem here. Your life is endangered and it's not bothering you?!" Kei furiously asked.
"Kei...it seems that you have already forgotten, my life was endangered 11 years ago, there's nothing new to it. The question is, who wants me to be killed now?"
All of them were in silence and seems to be in deep thought. After a couple of minutes, Mr. George mumbles to himself, "What if? But...but it is impossible, right?"
"Wait, George, George, George!" father said.
"What are you talking about?" he added.
"What I mean is there is only one person who wanted lady Amelia to be dead, right?" Mr. George said.
"But uncle Rolando is already dead, so that's impossible," Kei butted in.
"That's what I also think, Kei, but if it is my father that we are talking about, we cannot exclude the possibility that he is alive."
Kei and father went outside to process my discharge papers. Mr. George helped me to sit in a wheelchair, but I did not want to. Kei and father were waiting for us in the car.
"Are you sure about this, sweetheart?"
"Yeah, Amelia. You can stay at the hospital for a while."
"Mr. Chandler and young master are right, lady Amelia." The three of them said in unison.
"Enough! Okay. I think I'll be sick by your flooding questions than being stabbed by a knife."
Mr. George started the car's engine and drove. We drop off father at the company first, and then, we headed home.
"Have a rest Amelia," Kei said.
"Are you worried about me? Don't worry, I am fine."
"Of course, I am worried! What if...I don't want—" Kei started to cry.
"Hey! Reserve your tears, I'm still alive. Only cry at my funeral, okay?"
"But I don't want you to be in trouble anymore! I don't want you to be in that kind of situation like 11 years ago, I—"
"Shhh, I get your point," I hugged him and patted his back. "I'm not a child anymore. I can save myself now," I added.
When he calmed down we went to our respective rooms. I lay down on my bed and blankly stared at the ceiling.
Who in the world wants to kill me again? Is it really possible that dad was alive? But how? I definitely saw him die in front of my eyes.
I was interrupted while talking in my head and startled when my window broke and the glass shattered. Luckily, I have my blanket with me to cover myself from the glass fragments. I picked up the rock that made my window break.
A rock? Something was taped on it.
I opened the letter attached to the rock.
["Be free while you can. Your time will come soon."]
Kei barged into my room with Mr. George. "What happened?" they both asked in unison.
I looked at them, pointed at the window, and showed them the letter.
"Who did this?" Kei asked.
"Are you alright, lady Amelia?" Mr. George asked.
"I'm fine. Luckily, I was on my bed when the rock was thrown in the window."
"This won't do. You'll stay in my room tonight," Kei said. Kei hurriedly left my room and went to his room.
"Mr. George, can you do me a favor?"
"What is it lady Amelia?"
"Can you find out if is it my father who really buried in his grave? I don't want to think that he is still alive, but I am getting this chills and instinct that it is still possible. Also, can you do it personally? I don't think I can trust anyone else."
"Of course, lady Amelia. I will do as you wish."
Kei suddenly went back to my room.
"It's done! You can go to my room whenever you're ready, Amelia," he said.
I move out of my room and went with Kei. Right before we reach his room, I stopped.
"My bad, you head to bed first. I'm going to the basement."
"Really Amelia?! You're hurt, it's late, and now you want to go to your playroom?! No?! I won't let that happen?!" Kei grabbed my hand and dragged me to his room.
"Kei! Let me go!"
"No! You're not going anywhere!"
"But—"
"No buts! Straight ahead to bed!" he insistently said while holding my hand so tight. "If you are not wounded, I'll personally put you on my shoulder," he added.
When we entered his room, he hurriedly locked the door.
"I'll be taking the top bed," he said and went to the top bed without saying anything.
I sit on the bottom bed and sighed.
"Hey, Kei. What if, just what a what if. What if my dad is alive? Do you think I may be able to ask him about all this mess? I mean about what happened 11 years ago?"
"Will you be able to do that? I mean...the Amelia that I know now is way too different than Cassandra Canterbury. Also, as far as I remember you get to emotional sometimes and forgets your goal," he said. "But—" he mumbled but I definitely heard him.
"But what?"
"It just popped out from my mind. Will you ever use Cassandra Canterbury ever again? I mean Amelia suits you, but...I like Cassandra too." He sighed.
"I don't know Kei. It's been 11 years since I used that name. Will there be a person beside the Chandlers threshold that knows or remembers Cassandra Canterbury?"
"Who knows? But I am sure there is someone out there beside us."
Kei and I went to sleep. The next morning, I woke up and saw Kei coming out from the bathroom.
"Good morning, Amelia. Hurry up and took a bath then head downstairs for the breakfast," he said while drying his hair with a towel. "Oh, use my bathroom don't go to your room," he added with a stern voice.
"Okay." I went to the bathroom and took a shower. When I finished my bath, my clothes are ready on top of my bed as well as my things for school. It seems that Kei moved some of my things from my room. I head downstairs and saw Kei waiting at the table. The breakfast is already served.
"Where are father and Mr. George?" I asked.
"Father is still at the office and stayed there while Mr. George said he'll visit uncle's graveyard," he answered.
We begin to eat our breakfast and went to school.
We arrived at school and walking at the hallway when Kei asked me about my condition. "Are you okay? I mean your—" Kei did not even finished his words when Roxanne happily and unexpectedly approached us and hugged me tightly.
"Ummm...R-Roxanne—" I mumbled. Kei hurriedly separate me and Roxanne.
"Amelia, is something wrong?" Michael asked with a worried voice. Because of his question Jake, Roxanne, and Tiffany looked at me attentively.
"She was stabbed by a knife yesterday," Kei answered.
"What?!" the four said in unison. Right before they asked me another question the school bell rang. We hurriedly went to our classroom. The dramatic ones, Roxanne and Tiffany, dramatically escorted me to my desk.
"You'll explain everything at lunch, okay," Tiffany whispered.
"Are you not feeling well?" Alexander asked. "You looked kind a pale," he added.
"Oh, yeah. I'm fine. A little bit lightheaded, I guess." Right before he asked another question our first teacher showed up.
After the first two class the second teacher gave me and Alexander a task to collect the homeworks of the whole class and put it in her desk at the teacher's office, after the class. We did it and followed our teacher.
"Hey, I won't mind if you give some of notebooks. You looked uncomfortable," Alexander said.
"Really? Thanks." I give some of the notebooks to him.
"Oh shi—" I said when I saw my uniform letting out some blood.
Alexander took all the notebook from my hand. "I'll handle this you go to the clinic, now," he said with a stern voice. I just nodded and do as what he said.
"Hello, Ms. Bons—she's not here. Argh—" I groaned a little and felt a little tingling sensation from my wound.
"You should've take a rest at a hospital if you are wounded like this," Alexander said.
"Geez, Alex. Don't be a mushroom. Do not pop up out of nowhere and quietly. Are you a ninja or something?"
"If you have a lot of question and energy? Why are you groaning in pain earlier?"
"It is because some notebook touched my wound earlier."
"Then you should have told me."
"What for? Will you make my wound healed or something?"
He grabbed my shoulders and looked at me in the eye. "I'll do the task alone so you can rest. I will do anything to help you," he said with his smooth, deep voice.
The clinic's door opened. Someone cleared their throat. "And what are you two doing—" Alexander and I turned our heads and meet eye to eye with Ms. Bonsworth. "What in the world happened to you, Amelia?! You're bleeding!" Ms. Bonsworth frantically said while getting some medicine and bandages.
"I was stabbed yesterday, and I think some notebooks that we supposed to take to the teacher's office touched my wound and it opened then bleed."
I took off my uniform and Ms. Bonsworth treated my wound. "Listen, Amelia. You are supposed having a rest at the hospital now not here in school. Your wound seems shallow on the outside but it is deep on the inside," Ms. Bonsworth nagged at me.
"That's what we are telling her but she just won't listen to anyone," Kei butted in. He was with Jake, Michael, Roxanne, and Tiffany.
"So, why are you stabbed?" Roxanne asked.
"Well..." I stopped for a moment and looked at Kei. He just nodded and stared at back as if he's telling me that it is my choice to talk or not especially Alexander is with us. I sighed. "...after class yesterday, we went to a cemetery to visit someone and then on our way back someone bumped at me and that's it blood were flowing out slowly from my side."
"You did not feel anything?" Tiffany asked.
"Nothing. If it isn't because of Kei, who saw blood was coming out of me, I would not know."
"Then, why are you here at school? You should be at the hospital, right?" Jake asked.
"I don't like the hospital. I hate it."
"I told you, she's kind a stubborn in times like this," Kei butted in.
"But still, you should have a rest and—" Ms. Bonsworth was interrupted by the school bell.
"Classes may start soon, let's all head back to the classroom. Thank you for treating my wound, Ms. Bonsworth." Ms. Bonsworth sighed.
"Kei, I think I understand you now." Kei nodded in agreeing. "Okay then, just be careful Amelia, okay."
We all head back to the classroom and I noticed that there was a lunch box at the top of my desk. I opened it. With curiosity, Roxanne and Tiffany anticipated on what is inside the lunch box.
"Ah!" Roxanne and Tiffany shouted in unison.
"What in the world? Who sent that lunch box to you, Amelia?" Jake said.
Kei also take a look about what is happening as well as some of our classmates. It was not an ordinary lunch box with rice, meat, dessert, or something but with insects, bugs, and worms.
Kei closed the lunch box and throw it out in the trash can.
Just...what is happening here?!
