Chereads / The Heiress of Canterbury / Chapter 3 - The Dominant Sister

Chapter 3 - The Dominant Sister

"Okay class, silence, please. And Jake please calm down, let the new student speak."

"H-hi everyone, my n-name is Kei Chandler. Nice to meet all of you."

"Chandler?!" Again, Jake spoke loudly.

"Then..." Roxanne said while she and Tiffany turn their heads to me.

"Yup, he's my brother," I nodded slowly.

"Okay that's enough, Kei you may seat beside Mr. Roberts," our adviser said.

Michael waved his hands and signaled Kei where his seat is. Kei walked shyly and sat beside Michael.

"And before I leave, may I remind all of you of your upcoming mock test next week. I know it is just a mock test but still, the other teachers and I will record the results of that test. So, be prepared that's all. Clean your classroom then it's your self-study okay."

"Yes, ma'am," we all replied.

After our adviser said all of that, she then left the classroom. As usual, all of my classmates gathered around and examined the new student also known as Kei Chandler, my brother.

"So, what's your favorite color?", "Do you have a girlfriend?", "What's your favorite food?", all my girl classmates asked in unison.

"Uhmm... Ah..." Kei said hesitantly with a red face.

"Hahahahaha!"

"You find it funny Amelia? You look like an evil sister in a fairytale story," Tiffany butted in.

"Thank god he was not Amelia's boyfriend," Jake said.

"It doesn't matter if he's Amelia's boyfriend or not. Why bother Jake?" Roxanne asked.

"You know that he still likes Amelia right," Michael said.

"S-so what?! I know my limits besides I don't like that guy's face. He looks like someone who has a hidden motive. You know, acting shy but actually a red flag," Jake explained.

"Pfft. Hahahahahah. Really? Kei, a red flag? No way. I knew him since we were kids. And that face he's just really shy. Hahahahahaha," I said while then bursting into a laugh again.

"Amelia! S-stop them!" Kei hurriedly hides at my back trembling.

"My, my, look at you hahaha. It's funny. I don't want to," I said.

"Please, please stop them. I p-promise I'll spend more time in the basement. Just stop them please," Kei begs as he trembles behind my back.

I slowly looked at him and smiled.

"Really? Say it again. I'll record it just for proof."

I took my pen recorder inside my pocket and then put it near Kei's mouth.

He spoke, "I, Kei Chandler promise you Amelia Chandler to spend more time in the basement for one month..."

"One month?" I pressured him.

"t-then... two months..."

"Not enough," I said.

"...f-five months?" he unsurely said.

"Five months? Hmmm... let me think..."

"Amelia hurry..."

"Okay, I have my decision, but still not enough."

"Argh! Amelia you... Fine! One year okay! I'll keep my promise for a year. Is it still not enough?!"

I smiled brightly and looked at him, "That's more than enough, but please say it again, in a complete thought."

"I, Kei Chandler promise you Amelia Chandler to spend more time in the basement for one year, and I will do whatever new things you want me to do."

I ended the record and smiled at him. While Kei was still hiding behind me, I cleared my throat and speak, "Okay ladies that's enough. Anyone that disagrees may have the opportunity to confront me. Got that?"

Right after I finished what I said all my girl classmates scattered and sighed with big dismay on their faces.

Well, to be honest, no one in my classroom has ever beat me in any arguments. I also don't know why. By the way, regardless of any gender, both were scared just by my presence, though I am not that scary.

"Amelia, your classmates might give a heart attack."

"Well, you are not the only one that was welcomed in that way."

"What do you mean?"

"See that guy seating on the second column third row? It was a chaotic day just like this, where all the girls are almost swamping over him but he doesn't seem to be bothered by it, unlike you."

He just pouted like a six-year-old child in front of me.

"Hey, Amelia that guy came here just yesterday right?"

"Yup, he's a transferee just like you. Why'd you ask?"

"Hmmm..." Kei was carefully staring at Alexander.

"I don't know why but... I think his face seems familiar" he said.

"You're not alone. Yesterday, those were the same words that I have been thinking after he entered the classroom."

We both looked at each other. Kei and I were obviously staring at Alexander until Roxanne, Tiffany, Jake, and Michael disturbed us.

"Does the Chandler siblings have a fetish over Alexander?" Roxanne asked.

"Yeah, the two of you seem interested to him" Michael added.

"I get Amelia but is Kei gay?" Jake asked.

"What a stupid question Jake. But before you answer Roxanne and Jake, I am just curious, why are the two of you the same age? Are you twins or what?" Tiffany asked too.

"Well, for me and Kei, we think Alexander's face was familiar" I answered.

"You know the feeling like you've met someone but you do not know when and where" Kei added.

"You're Jake, right? I may be scared of girls because I came from an all-boys school but still, I like girls and I am not gay" Kei told Jake.

"Lastly, Kei and I were not twins. Actually, we're cousins" I said. All four of them seemed to be shocked by my statement.

"Amelia's father was my father's elder brother, my dad was the youngest son" Kei added.

"My father... no my family died 10 years ago. Then, Kei's father adopted me that's why Kei and I became siblings, on the paper of course, because in blood basically, we're cousins," I finished my statement along with Kei who's nodding beside me.

"What a surprise Amelia. You never mentioned it to us until now," Roxanne and Tiffany said in unison.

"Well at least, I get it that this guy was not a bad guy at all," Jake added.

"E-excuse me! What did you just say? Me, a bad guy? Are you insane? Can I punch you?" Kei butted in.

"Kei stop it. Besides Roxanne and Tiffany, you never asked. So, how would I ever mention it to the both of you?" I said.

The two just sighed and put their palms on their foreheads. While Jake was hiding behind Michael, and I was stopping Kei from attacking Jake; both Michael and I were hardly controlling ourselves not to laugh at this ridiculous situation.

A lot of questions came in after that and without noticing the time the self-study ended just by that. We have our lesson go on normally.
