The shouts of the crowd was deafening, and along with it, a ringing in my ears. I was grounded, my soul completely tethered to my body, but it was also as if I had just been cut off from a trance. From a state of undisrupted concentration.
I heaved in a breath. Air, I needed air. I had never summoned fire that huge before.
But somehow, I was like the effort was merely a breeze. It didn't exhaust me, except for the subtle soreness from the great weight of it. But aside from that, I was just like how I felt some seconds ago. Perhaps it was because I was able to extinguish the surge of flames quickly, resulting in a very little cost.
I was bubbling still with untampered adrenaline, and I waited for it to subside as the audience continued to cheer and throw in limitless praises for the Hummingbirds.
The commentator had proclaimed our victory, and I could see my friends running to me.
