Ren knew of the Duchess of Flames, the Fire Queen or whatever she was called. She was said to be the strongest fire-wielder of today's generation, capable of singlehandedly saving a southern town from a raiding party composed of hundreds of bandits. Duchess Ruby Rusells razed them all to the ground with her fires that ignited enormously than the biggest of waves on the southern coast. It was said that the smell of char lasted for a month, but the townsfolk basked in it, forever grateful to their heroic protector.
Often times, Ren wondered how strong the quartet was. Being a fire-wielder himself, he was especially curious on how where he might stand compared to the duchess' prowess. It was easy for the Quartet to be branded as powerful, lethal and strong. This was because they were expected to be those things, so they could earn their rightful place as the guardians of Carnelia, as the people who stood beside the queen herself.
