I made no effort to tamper the rage. My fury was released even before I thought to do it. I was burning inside out, and there was nothing else to do but ignite. Explode. My heart was wildfire, and there was no controlling the fumes.
I conjured my fire, aiming my burning fists at Niko. I saw the brief flash of shock playing in his eyes, but as always he managed to dodge my attack, stepping back at the last minute and I merely got to singe his collar.
"Lily, wait!" he pleaded, hands joined together. "Calm down!"
My ears rang, my blood rushing, singing with madness and anger altogether. "You dare make a fool of me, Nikolas Kore!"
His eyes went wide that all the whites became stark against the night. "I'm not! I swear it, Lily. Why would I do that?"
"You have all the reasons to," I growled, breathing heavily. "Tell me, Nikolas. Do you take enjoyment upon seeing me suffer?"
