The captain was brushing off the dust on his uniform while I stood there stiff, rooted to the ground like a petrified thing. Despite having been fighting, not a lock of his silver hair was out of place. It remained neatly bunched up into a high ponytail.
"How did you find out?" I asked, breathless.
Meanwhile, my friends had caught up on my sides. The four of us faced the captain, who looked none the least disheveled from the recent exercise.
"Did we get busted?" Mel said, his voice soft as air.
"I admit, you had fooled me when I saw you and my son in his room." The captain fixed his collar, adjusted his sleeve. He appeared as he was when he came here. "But your fighting style is very distinct, Lilibeth Rusells. I've seen you spar with Nikolas before, and I can say that your movements are extraordinarily unique. They are set apart from the rest."
