The three of us were standing before the headmaster's office, where the person who held the highest authority in the Royal Academy currently resided. Both Niko and August wore the same expectant expressions.
I had crossed my arms, a frown on my face. "Why does it have to be me?"
Niko raised a brow. "Come on, Lily. Don't tell me you're scared of the headmaster."
"Of course, I am," I whispered sharply. "That man scares me to the bones."
The headmaster hadn't been transparent of his dislike for me, but I could see it in his gaze, dark and foreboding. Each time I passed by him in the halls, his expression would turn sour and he'd look the other way, never allowing me to greet him. It had been like that for many years now, and I had learned to avoid going the same way as him as much as possible.
