Things were not getting any better. As I looked out a window from our classroom, I could still see the smokes and explosions coming from the different parts of the city. I couldn't see the royal palace from where I was standing, but I was willing to bet that I could only imagine what was going on over there.
At least I was certain my parents were safe, they were much more powerful than two armies combined. And besides, Erilyn wouldn't let harm come their way no matter how much her perceptions had changed.
Zarina hovered beside me, silent and subtle as the wind. Without turning to her, I asked, "Still no news from the Order?"
"Unfortunately, there is none," she sighed, "we have been sending messenger hawks since the battle ensued. There hasn't been a reply since."
