They walked through a vast corridor with a wooden interior, the walls plastered in floral wallpaper. It seemed like they were in a normal house rather than a base headquarters of a person who was planning to start a civil war and steal the throne.
Ines led Erilyn to a lavish sitting room. The curtains were drawn, so it was dark, with only the chandelier offering a golden brilliance in the space. Velvet couches were situated on the center, surrounding a low-lying table laden with a tea set. Before these couches was a glowing hearth, its blaze crackling and providing heat. Erilyn couldn't figure out what time it was currently, whether it was morning or noon or evening. But that was the least of her worries.
The princess had chased away the twins earlier, leaving the both of them alone. Ines had since been all smiles, as if she was a business partner, not someone who had taken her by force. In any case, Erilyn had expected this to happen more or less.
