There was only total darkness, no sound, no light, no movement. There was her, but no matter how Erilyn struggled, she could not break free from what had bound her. She stamped down the panic, silenced the raging choked screams whispering into her ears. Then, she took a deep breath, taking stock of her senses. They were working perfectly.
Calm, be calm, she kept repeating to herself.
Something was covering her eyes and mouth, not allowing her to see and shout. Her hands were tied behind her back with a rope, her ankles too, suffered the same fate. She was seated and gagged.
A kidnapping? But how?
Erilyn racked through her memories desperately. The last thing she remembered was going to the marketplace after talking it out with Ren. He was talking with the store owner as she patiently waited, taking a look at the displayed crafts and merchandise.
Until she fell to unconsciousness, and hands dragged her away.
